It seems to me that what we have here is somebody who is a great inventor and designer but with limited business skills, to out it mildly. There is precedent for this, and I am reminded of Clive Sinclair, who created some iconic technology, but struggled with the business skills needed to bring products and ideas to market. Let's hope he is able to find somebody with the necessary business drive to push these products to market. I love my Alpha and Bravo and it would be a shame to see further development of other products stopped, but unfortunately trust has been broken and it may be a hard climb for him to restore confidence in potential buyers

They're not that great, the bravo has been nothing but trouble. Almost all the wiring for the throttles in my bravo is broken and keeps breaking.

Nicki is under a 2.1 million dollar lawsuit by his partner company in California, he hasn't been part of Honeycomb since last year presumably. Snakebyte (the parent company) are trying to revive honeycomb but the reputation damage alone is fatal to the company.

Good info Mark, I had no idea Honeycomb were in trouble. Like many flight simmers, I have their Alpha Yoke and Bravo Throttle Quadrant and they really are great value for the money. I hope they are able to salvage this situation, they would be a big loss to the mid price market for quality flight peripherals.

Firstly, I love my Alpha and Bravo. I pre-ordered the Charlies at the first oppurtunity but after the string of delays cancelled in Dec and was told 10 to 15 days till you get your money back. It never got refunded and since I initially paid for the products by debit card in Feb 2023 that is outside of any kind of chargeback resolution window here in the US. That's $390 gone. So why was I told I would be refunded when the e-mail, which I received today, said all refunds stopped back in January? The enquiry sent today to the customer service rep who I was in contact with a few weeks ago, bounced back. No surprise there. Great summary of the situation Mark and I fully agree with the terms "unacceptable" and "naive" you used. I was a customer who loves the 2 products I own., but I now feel betrayed. Whatever the situation was at the company, the way the loyal customers were kept in the dark and lied to, like myself, is a total disgrace. No rambling 3 part e-mail can make up for that and I think the damage done to the brand is irreversible. Honeycomb, you have lost a one time fanboy for life.

Wow!! I had no idea! I just got my Bravo on Monday 2/5. I ordered it on Wednesday 1/31 I believe, they shipped almost immediately from Germany, apologized because it was going to take one extra business day because of a labor dispute, and I only paid 145.29 EUR plus shipping of 63 EUR. Roughly $235 US all said and done. I got that price on the last day of their sale.

As someone in the manufacturing industry with injection molding experience, I was puzzled how Honeycomb could produce their Alpha yoke at that price, in that quantity, at a profit. The housing is beautiful and not to mention the mechanicals are smooth. The sad part is, producing the Charlie isn't going to be enough to dig them out of the hole. If an investor gets onboard, they better be patient and hope for a wave of Alpha and Bravo replacements... other than the bad RJ-45 port, the product is solid and will last for years. New Xbox users are the only hope for sales spikes.

Just to add a little more, in the UK you have extra consumer rights in addition to any manufacturers’ warranty, your contract is between you and the retailer not the manufacturer. So if you do suffer any failures you do have up to six years to make a claim against the seller for a repair, replacement or refund. As Mark mentions if you paid by credit card the card company is legally jointly responsible for any loss and you can apply to them for a full refund if the transaction is over £100.00. If you paid by debit card you are covered to a lesser extend by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

I had a preorder I just disputed after I heard today. I don't expect I will actually get my money back as it was a first batch preorder (11 months ago). I doubt that they will cover a chargeback from that long ago, but I filed anyway just in case. I love their products, but I can’t see how they recover and become a viable company again, or how I will get my money back or the rudders I paid for.

Hi Mark, aerosoft promotions are not related to this. This is their statement ‘Last year, we already planned and ran several promotions on a wide range of products throughout the winter until early 2024. Our current Honeycomb sale was part of these promotions, has now been launched on a regular basis and is therefore unrelated to the manufacturer's announcement.’

@@Paul-T I believe I will have to additionally pay 20% VAT (£50) and 2% import duty (£5) before receipt. So, after VAT, import duty and deliver they actually will come to £162.50 each. A little more expensive that I first thought, but still a very good deal (especially as these items may no longer be available in the near future).

@@DanuForhonor I have had multiple post deleted by KZbin trying to post (and explain) how to find the software! (I think KZbin spam filter is being a little aggressive as I posted the URL). Fortunately Mark has placed a link as a pinned post at the top of the comments here which does have a link to the download. All the software does is control the lights on the Bravo. Both the Alpha and Bravo are quality pieces of kit and I would highly recommend even without the driver software.

I was worried about this company when I ordered my yoke. The company had early orders then. It went up to the credit card fraud reporting. I told them I had to report it. This cuts off payments so they sent mine. I didn’t buy the Bravo until it was in a computer store. This company had issues from the beginning.

I wasn't expecting this as i am a new purchaser of the products, having been away from flight sim for several years. However have noticed that my Alpha Bravo Quadrant does not light up switches and landing gear up/down. I assumed these would activate as soon as the PC is switched on, as the Yoke does.

Their support was AWFUL 3.5 years ago as well, took them about 2 months to finally respond to my support ticket when my yoke arrived DOA. Their response included trying to sell me the throttle quadrant as well.

I'm not surprised. From the beginning something seemed wrong, and the fact many, many customers had problems post-purchase dealing with this company (from the beginning) just raised red flags immediately. Their products were nothing special, very expensive for what they were, had so non-standard in terms of interoperability, it was a joke.

This is such a shame. I own both the Alpha home and the Bravo throttle quadrant. I was offered a prerelease of the Charley's but declined. So, for the most part the two products I own are good. Not crazy about the size of arrangement of some buttons and the autopilot but they are ok for the most part. The quality has been good. But the rest of the company, customer service, delivery et al, are missing, have been for literally for years. I had high hopes for them. I use iPads and Simionic's apps, Touch portable and the msds 2020 profile, fs pilot and some other hardware. I have a good experience for the most part. I enjoy what I have, but I'm always on the lookout for the next best thing.

Had been hearing rumblings of issues for a bit. I love my Alpha and Bravo but definitely frustrated. Had tried to order Bravo lrvrrs for months and orders would never be accepted (guessing Spotify wasn't allowing orders for quite some time). Thankfully I never got in on the the Charlie pre-order. I do hope that the product lineup can go on as they are very good for the costs (not cheap Saitek or super expensive Yoko). Considering grabbing a second pair as a backup.

They had a similar sale a few months ago, I think in October, for only a bit more. Either way, I couldn't believe today's discount as it was half the price you'd pay here in Canada after adjusting for currency exchange rates; 145.29 EUR (about 212 CAD, 158 USD) which didn't jive with the fact that you can't get your hands on any of their products here and for quite some time at that.

In many countries it is a criminal offence to trade while knowing you cannot fulfil orders or if you are insolvent. NDAs have zero validity in these situations. What we have here is much worse than sheer incompetence. From the very start Honeycomb were extremely poor in sorting out their supply and made promises they knew they could not keep. They have good quality products with healthy demand from consumers so it seems very odd that they could not stay afloat. Never, ever pre-order goods from an unproven manufacturer. The only way you'll get your products now is direct from a retailer who definitely has them in stock.

The Sim Community needs to STOP paying for Undeveloped, Unfinished, and even Unavailable products. Anything short of a finished product ready for immediate shipment is a risk at best. This includes software and hardware.

I had a Bravo Throttle unit and it had a problem and was clearly under warranty. I contacted them and supplied all the documentation as requested and they said they had a shipping carrier problem. I never got any kind of response after that. This company should be sued out of existence.

Look at Minifcu many people backed that, and it has had a great outcome. I think maybe the biggest difference was Honeycomb had a partner that did all the interaction for the factory, we don't know if the partner was USA based like honeycomb or Chinese based. Minifcu are Hong Kong based, and I believe deal direct with the factory themselves with no middle man.

Mark, you call him 'Nicki' throughout the video like he is some kind of trusted close friend of yours on first name terms. He isn't is he? He is Nicki Repenning, and has contributed to this situation by (at his own admission) not monitoring the situation. It is neglectful mismanagement at best, if not gross incompetence, and the talk of customers still getting their 'free hats' just shows the lack of perception of the seriousness of the problem, which is why this situation has occurred I think. Just let me ask, for those who have paid and are waiting for your product, are you seriously worried about your free hat? Also, the credit card charge back is limited to six months I believe, so if you ordered before June last year, beyond all the seemingly good intentions of the honeycomb CEO, you can probably kiss your money goodbye! Sorry, it is a very sad situation for sure, but if I just won the lottery, I wouldn't invest a single pound in this company and their management. Edit: I just want to make a correction. Section 75 charge back is limited to 120 days in the UK (so about 4 months, not 6 as I first thought). So, even worse news.

Did you watch the video? It appears the business partner may have been fraudulent, nothing to do with over extending themselves, would not be the first time a business has gone bust due to a fraudulent partner, if this was the case with honeycomb.

I have ordered from them directly and had to cancel because they kept telling me it was coming when it clearly was not. This is more than the business partner. They make awesome products but overcommit on everything.
