MORNING GARDENER'S SHOW. You should get good pollination with those varieties. My new planting has a different variety every 10 trees or so just for pollination reasons.

You had a good year cuz honeys need more water then normal trees to keep the cal moving. Dont deprive honeys of water unless you be full of bitter pit and corkspot

Crisp, red, and no bitter rot. I call it a win win win.

Prof.Kent certainly our best honeycrisp crop. I’ve not considered them a serious apple here. Probably never will other than a novelty. No orchards planted them around here. I have seen orchards nearby planting Fuji and Goldrush blocks.

Pretty, i picked today in Central pa. Funny your video showed up, big tech,

They don't look like they have that hammered texture that my Honeycrisp get when ripe. If you can let them go a few weeks longer you might find, like mine in Michigan, they put on their size late in the season.

Prof.Kent they’re not peak I’m sure. But that texture is getting softer by the day. Still a few on the tree to test.

for me up a few states its best to pick next week, but for storage now is the time.

MRgreen it’s certainly a balance between continued risk of damage from birds and fungus vs a peak ripe apple. They are good nonetheless Thanks!

Honeys do so awsome up here in upstate ny. Were zone 4a here and honeys are by far best apples in the area, even out sell macs, and thats saying something cuz macs up here are like huge popular variety. But honeys beat em now. Make friends with chleated calcium , and water every 3days and don't apply any potassium. Honeys hyper accumulate potassium. Dont add it!

Have you tried "Red Romance" by Stark Brothers ? It is a Honey Crisp type apple for warmer climate like yours. I have one thats in its 3rd leaf now and looks good.

What your seeing is fruit rot. Bitter pit is a calcium problem. I’d suggest calcium as well. Look into MAIA apple program there out of Ohio. There great varieties and can handle you heat. And will still color.Gala has a lot more vigor then Honeycrisp. Hence the price difference in commercial setting.
