So happy to see this video. We have a booking at Mantobeni in September but believe it's been switched to Khoka Moya due to covid. Hoping to see the Mbiris. Grow strong cubbies. That area of the Manyeleti is stunning. Thank you!

Great video! Thanks a lot for all the information! Has anyone (recently) been at Mantobeni? Are the game drives (guides and vehicles) really as bad as stated further below by r cooksley? I am thinking about going there beginning of May 2023. We are thinking of either going to to Mantobeni for 2 nights or to Savanna Game Lodge or Umkumbe Safari Lodge (= both in Sabi Sands) for 2 nights or simply skipping these private reserves and just going to Kruger for 2 more nights than actually intended (i.e. after 2 nights at Shingwedzi and 2 nights at Mopani we would spend 3 instead of 2 nights at Satara and 3 instead of 2 nights at Skukuza). What are your opinions about that? If we choose to visit a private reserve or a private lodge which of the ones mentioned above would you recommend? We are experienced self drivers and we already know all the mentioned camps in Kruger. Thanks a lot for your advice! We highly appreciate!

Although not a fan of the covered vehicles have booked three nights at mantobeni for three nights end of august. The location of the camp , being unfenced and the possibility of visiting elephants to the pool swung it for me. Also seems an ideal place to find cheetah which have never seen in the greater Kruger. An excellent review as always and your videos take us back to Africa until we revisit .

Sorry but mantobeni my worst safari experience in Africa, great location and staff but the worst guide rangers you could ever have 15 hours in a covered vehicle 5 mins of lion 5 mins of rhino and saw same leopard twice. Worst when a cheetah sighting got radio in didn't even take us to see them . Never again.

@@kind2cats Thank you for the honest review. I absolutely agree about the covered vehicles… Arrrhhhh I may try Pungwe camp in the southern reaches of Manyeleti or Tintswalo However I keep returning to Mala Mala. Not cheap but superb location

Are most of these sightings within a private concession or can they be accessed by public road?
@TheSafariExpert3 жыл бұрын
Imraan, it depends. Some days Manyeleti's public roads produce amazing sightings, and on others, it's quiet. The private concessions are not necessarily more productive, it's just because the lodges can off-road there and because they are in radio contact that sightings seem to be better there.
