This Secret Garden in The Cotswolds took my Breath Away! Asthall Manor in England

Hello gardening friends! Today I am so excited to share with you the most incredible private garden the girls and I were fortunate enough to visit while in England. This garden is only open to the public a couple of days a year so please do check in advance, and if you are in the area on one of those occasions, Asthall Manor is a must see! As some of you requested, I opted out of using music for the background of this video, and wanted to allow you to hear the nature sounds as well as all the chatter going on during the tour. You will hear me gasp many times as I tried to soak in all of the beauty of this secret garden. One of the most beautiful elements of this design was the gradual progression from formal planting, to wildflower meadow, to mown path in the fields, the formality faded away in the most elegant and effortless way. Just so beautiful, the Roses, first thing I thought, they must not have Japanese beetles there. As I'm losing the battle. It's stunning how the Roses grow there, along with the Wisteria at some homes. The girls will have such fond memories of this trip, thanks for giving us armchair travels a peek inside.

Thank you for the tour. So very pretty and your daughters are too. I’ve always wondered how they get roses to stay on those stone cottages. Do they use fasteners?

Thank you! I’m not sure how they’ve done it here, but a common way is to use eye screws and wire.

The gardens were very well kept, but yes we still saw some weeds. I found it refreshing to know that even the finest gardens in the world, some with gardeners on staff or volunteers on hand, still deal with weeds like the rest of us.
