As a kid growing up in Hong Kong in the 70s and early 80s, the Wessex helicopters of the 28 Squadron were the first military aircraft that I've seen. It was always a thrill to see them flying overhead.

I was there in HK 1970-74. As a member of RHKR's J Sqn (Caset) we got rides in the Wessex and Whirlwind choppers as well as the Allouettes of the RHKAAF. Their specularity was flying over Lion Rock from the NT side, was spectacular. Which school did you go to?

My best three years were spent here on 28 Sqn. So many memories brought up by this video. Thank you to everybody who knew me out there as Rocket Sox.

@@kimli2206 Sorry no, but after we did a parachute course for the HKPF, they took us all out to a restaurant down town. It was the best Chinese meal that I've ever had.

Felt so bad for the guy who got grounded... but why..? why would you ground an experienced pilot like him ?
@tonyhaynes90807 ай бұрын
They do a ground tour before going back to flying. It may not seem it, but it's an advancement.
