Remember drag coefficient needs to take into account the frontal area. Yes lower is better, but if the frontal area is larger it will negate a low drag coefficient.
@darekmistrz43642 жыл бұрын
Exactly. You can have Tesla Model 3 that is two times bigger than usual, it's still same drag coefficient, but overall drag resistance will be two times bigger because frontal area is two times bigger. Actually aerodynamics are so complex that it's shame we even use such simple values to describe it.

From one chineese car manufacture to another: i think many norwegians would be highly interested to see you test out the new MG ZS EV, the MG 5 and soon to come the new MG 4 in norweigan conditions - especially cold conditions. Some of those cars does not come with a heat pump, so it would be very interesting to see how they compare in the range tests you do. And of course your rewiev and comparisons of the driving experience with other similar cars. Cheers, Bjørn! ;)

What is the status on testing the MG ZS EV Long range? I'm curious since I actually have one and heard earlier that you had to wait because they wanted you to have the latest software when you were testing. I'm very happy with mine btw, but I do experience sometimes that the computer can have some trouble starting up and have to reset. I experienced the same on my Zoe so this is something I don't think too much about, but still, it's annoying. The car doesn't regen in cruise mode, what's up with that? And the speed limit control has to be activated from a submenu every time you start the car if you want to use it.

After the first pride in my new car comes disappointment! I have the direct comparison between my 6 year old MB GLS 500 and the Hongqi E HS-9. My 2014 Model S with its MCU1 seems really snappy and responsive compared to this new luxury car 🤣
@IsakSwahn2 жыл бұрын
It's quite an interesting experience to compare the two (what I did too). Yes, the 2014 Model S is like a good stiff racing bike where you really feel a direct connection between the pedals and the tyres pulling you forward. However, *still* somehow the Hongqi *subtly* accellerates you to the desired speed. Perhaps it's a limitation of the jerk and/or jounce that makes it feel like you are suddenly up to 100 km/h without you even noticing it, and still quicker than a Model S 2014. But yes, both cars are very nice experiences, in different ways. A bit like if you love your good stiff racing bike, you might still enjoy an electric assisted, fully suspended city bike for other trips.
@patrikahlberg37102 жыл бұрын
@@IsakSwahn My comment had nothing to do with driving experience or acceleration. I said that the MCU (computer and screen in the car) is snappier and more responsive in my 2014 model S, which is insane compared to a 2022 model Hongqi. For some reason Tesla seemes to be the only car manufacturer that actually understand the importance of user experience in the computer and screen. If I upgrade my old MCU to the second generation, my carn is basically working as an ipad in responsiveness, while many of the competitors (yes even premium ones like BMW and Mercedes) seems more like an old laggy smartphone from 2014.
