I like the videos on this channel even though almost all of them are about electric cars. As an average American (in America, the median personal income is around $40k), I’m not ready for a full EV yet because almost all EVs are priced at over $40k and are therefore a bit pricey. I also occasionally make longer road trips - that's where PHEVs are more practical given the lack of a robust and convenient EV charging network in the US. Since BYD makes a number of PHEVs, it would be great to see future reviews of them. I know BYD cars are banned in the US but if knowledge is power or half the battle, then we should know more about BYD and other Chinese PHEVs so we can compare them to PHEVs from Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, etc. For example, the Prius Prime ($30K - $40K in the US) with a full electric range of around 40 miles would suffice for my daily commutes and the 500 - 600 mile combined range plus the ability to run on gasoline would meet any of my long distance road trip needs.

Not a bad looking ride. While in no way reminiscent of anything Lincoln has ever put out, I don't know why but this design makes me think of Lincoln/Ford in the US. Should Hongqi ever penetrate the US market, from a marketing perspective, they should completely avoid the "Red Flag" association as it holds a different significance here,as you undoubtedly know (A red flag is a sign of trouble - "I wouldn't have gotten into this situation if I had paid attention to all of the red flags (hints that something was off). Having lived 20 years in South East Asia, it is a pleasure to see these Chinese brands reach such impressive automotive heights in what has been a relatively short period of time. A good idea for a video, given your focus on the Chinese market, would be to address the safety standards that these manufacturers are adhering to. Does China have governing bodies like the NHTSA in the US and Euro enCAP? Safety and quality (beyond the surface of material feel etc) are big concerns for buyers in the west. Maybe you could put some of those concerns to rest. Just a thought. Thank you for the content.

most new chinese new cars (2021 onwards) are NCAP 5 star rating, you can check european or australian websites that review chinese cars sold in those continents.
@patrickdgarez86 Жыл бұрын
@@wangyaohan8824 I have no doubt that they conform. As you say, they couldn't sell in these countries if they didn't. As mentioned, I am very happy that China has jumped into the car market with such force. It is a different design perspective. I just know that many buyers will still think safety and reliability (which is difficult to quantify given how young many of these companies products are). Most buyers won't necessarily go to the NCAP website to check, so it might be wise for Chinese mfgs to do more to address these matters in their marketing, to dispel these, albeit, false negative perceptions and also helpful if reviewers address them when featuring these vehicles. =)
