One interesting side note about Ursas is that Tachanka seems to pickup the language extremely quickly in the Rainbow Six event, both spoken and written forms of it. That implies that the Ursas language is also linguistically similar to Russian as well, where a native speaker from Earth can quickly adopt the Terran version with little difficulty.

43:41 just a little info: you might see this black with blue lines accessory(anklets and bracelets) in some characters, these are actually infection monitors for people who have the originium infection or Oripathy used by Rhodes Island. So if you see someone who has this it means they're being nursed by Rhodes Island and are working as an operator to pay for the cost.

the bracelets are infection monitors, true. But they are distributed to all Rhodes Island operators, even the uninfected ones like Beeswax, La pluma, Bagpipe, Plume, ... I think the reason is to monitor everyone since operators are often sent to Infected areas, thus risking themselves to the infection. So monitoring everyone is necessary.

Legitimately, the Near Light Trailer is still my personal favorite trailer to date. Now you can understand why xD Don't get me wrong, there are a few more banger trailers with animations. But this one has a special place in my heart; probably because of the emotions it brings out of you. Legitimately, no joke, even though I've watched it probably over 20 times now (with all the reactions I've watched), I actually tear up each time still. Also, Flametail (the redhead fox knight girl) isn't fighting for "her family". She's fighting for the rights of the infected (the people in the slums), so they can be treated better. (The commentator at the very beginning mentions how infected are competing for the 3rd time) However, the leaders of the country don't want that, so when they saw that she was doing well and actually had a shot at winning, they just went ahead and attacked the slums where she was at. And then because she has to help the survivors find a new place, she had to forfeit her place in the competition. Additionally, Nearl (the badass blonde who saved the day) is actually sort of a celebrity in that country, and Flametail looks up to her a lot (you can even see, at 48:41, she has a huge poster of her behind her). And so, when Nearl actually comes to save the day (and answers the question of "What is a knight?" that Flametail was asking herself), it's literally like your idol approving of your actions, and endorsing you. Very touching ❤

I actually got tears from your comment. I wasn't sure that that was Nearl. Having never played the game, I am highly ignorant of the details of what happens before and after trailers and cinematics. That story breaks my heart, form the decrepit violence, and for her having to forfeit after all her hard work.

@@kallistikaleid The overall world of Terra (their "Earth") is very "fleshed out", but also extremely dark. I'd even call it "grim dark". It actually takes a fair bit of effort if you want to fully understand the lore and background story, because you get tidbits of it in different places. - Some from the main story itself - Some from each character's files (there's a profile section with background info on that character) which requires you to reach a high level of "trust" with that character (basically use them often in-game) and level them up to a certain point. - Some from each character's Operator Records (requires you to reach a high level with that character) - Each event (past and present) have their own bit of lore which, while unrelated to the main story, still gives information regarding factions/characters/etc. - Some of the trailers/teasers/videos will provide additional information/context as well (best example is the Near Light trailer itself) So yea, it's very hard to "understand everything" about the Arknights world, and some people, like me, enjoy the journey of learning about it. I probably still get things wrong, but I legitimately love learning about the game's world, no matter how dark it is. P.S.: If you ever hear about Ursus' Student Council, brace your heart.

I'm a Chinese server Arknights player, and each time the events began, Hypergryph would release the trailers which you reacted in part 1-2. And when the events began in Global server which is operated by Yostar, Yostar would add a short animated PV. So basically, the trailer with only texts and pictures are made by Hypergryph and the animated ones are made by Yostar. And 4 times a year in Chinese server (anniversary, summer, .5 anniversary, Chinese New Year), there will be a big side story event, along with a limited operater and a pretty cool 3D Teaser Trailer, which is made by Hypergryph. To me, the Near Light Teaser Trailer reached a peak of the 3D PV, with a whole storyline, perfect story rhythm combined with the music. But Hypergryph keep going and improve their 3D animation quality. They even set up a studio named "Gravity Well" to make their 3D animation. And start from the 3rd anniversary (or maybe earlier?), they made more attempt and expanded the style of the arts. They tried different styles of PVs to fit with the culture of the story they want to tell, most of them were not event trailers but some PVs released in the anniversary live streaming to tell you the events they were planning to hold. For example, talking about Rhine Lab which is in Colombia, the PV was full of sense of technology, while when talking about the past of the Leithania which is like a fantasy world, the PV style even remind me of Elden Ring or something... And talking about the history of Victoria, it's more like a fairy tale. And all these PVs' narration was in English, with different accents according to different regions. They even spoke Italian when they introduce Siracusa, which is the parallel of Italy. Sorry for my bad English, just want to tell you that it would be a journey with even more joy if you go on reacting more Arknights PVs. Can't wait for your more Arknights reaction videos and hope you can enjoy!

I'd agree that as far as the 3d animations, Dossoles teaser was the one that definitely felt the most off. There is a better animation from the same event, tho its part of a music video, so a lot of people skip it, called Ain't Seen Nothing Like This by Rad Cat. Its a bit more action oriented and shows off the personality and dynamic between characters much better as well and I think the lighting is a good bit better in it, not to mention the great music that goes with it of course.

16:40 This one has to be the one of the darkest and most disturbing event story so far. Even in the event game menu, that patriotic ost has the glitch / broken radio effect to add the creepiness and made it more eerie. 23:34 Yes, you're right. The main story (ch 0 - 8) is all about the conflict with Reunion that happen in Chernobog (Ursus) and Lungmen. The others are events story, or more like side story since the term "event" has that non canon vibes in it, but in Arknights, all are really important for the characters and world building. And some of them are heavily tied with the main story like Darknights Memoir. Since you also mentioned how much effort they put on limited event, for every event, they have a full PV (the one you watched from previous video), animated PV, and characters song/EP for every 6* (some 4-5* also get them too) on top of the banger in game osts that they have the singles on spotify for every events. For special events (4 times a year) they put a lot more efforts than usual, with having a 3D long PV. 25:54 This is chapter 8 trailer, which is the finale of the first arc of the main story (Reunion arc). If they gonna adapt all the story in anime, it'll be in season 3 or even season 4. 53:10 This event was one of the big special event coming with 3D PV just like undertides one. It's also the third of the Kazimierz story trilogi (Maria Nearl, the one with white knight outfit was the first one).

Events are limit time yes, but they do eventually have a rerun and then further on they add the event to the game permanently so you can do them at any time. The countries in game are based on real world countries. Ursus is Russia, Yen is China (with Lungmen being Hongkong), Leithania is Germany, Victoria is Britain, Columbia is the USA, Rim Billiton is Australia just to name a few.

the events do have reruns, but they also add past events permanently so you can do then anytime, you just don't get the rewards you would if you did them during the actual event

Most of the events happen after the first 8 chapters of main story. Some of them happen between 8 and 9. A lot of them happen even further into the future. One event tells a story before Chapter 1. As for seeing Roaring Flare as an anime, it should be in Season 3. That's the end of Part 1 of the main story.

The 3D PV for that event kinda took a nosedive in quality, along with some scandal of the quality in that event itself when it was release first in China. But when it come to global, there is a new MV promote for that trailer ft orginal song and 3D animation about part of the story in that event. The Near Light event (what the last PV was for) highlights something that's either a positive or negative criticism depending on how much you like reading in games. It's about 160k english words in the event story (230k cn words, cn:en tends to be 3:2 after translation). For comparison that's about equal to the first two Harry Potter books.

Hi Georgie, I enjoyed your video. Arknights has been my favorite phone game since it launched globally almost 3 years ago. Hearing you compliment the style for the characters' outfits made me remember to point out that the game offers skins to buy (which you CAN earn in-game without NEEDING to spend real money, though that option exists too) that are actually created by real clothing designers. 23:50 Yes indeed, most of these PVs are for limited time events, most get reruns and the mini-stories kind of events (shorter ones) get to be added on a section to replay those, after a certain undefined amount of time has happened since its debut. And other ones, the more important ones, get to be replayed instantly on another section (like what happened with the recent "Stultifera Navis" event). And also yes, these events are "branches" that aren't related with the main story, though all are completely Canon (I dunno about the collaborations tho) and are happening somewhere else and/or _somewhen_ else. Also, little extra Lore because I feel like it: There are no "humans" as we know it and for what we know at the moment. Everyone on these world have animal/mythical being features (Ranging from cat people to ancient chinese dragon people) and they refer themselves as their respective races (Sarkaz= Demons, Sankta= Angels, Perros= Dogs, Etc etc), but as a whole, they are all part of "humanity". And you were right about Terra, that's the name of the planet they inhabit. Also, make sure to watch the EPs! Almost every 6 star character in this game has their own music themes, all bangers in my opinion. Sometimes even there are EPs for other special characters, or just for the lols for what I've seen haha. Really recommend getting into the game.

The 3D animations (and the non-animation pvs) are made by the developer, Hypergryph, while the 2d animation pvs are made by the publisher, Yostar. Therefore, as much as I love those 2d animations, do be aware they are not always 100% lore accurate.

Going by word count, chapters 0-3 have around 27k words in total iirc and it took 8 episodes to adapt. Chapter 8 alone has 78k words and covers a massive chunk of the story. Just ignore the fact that a decent part of that story can be quickly summarized and a lot of it is purple prose. 53:10 "That's where you are going to leave it?" Yes, it is where they leave it. The best part is that if you want to know what happens next while having all the context, you have to read Maria Nearl (35k words), Pinus Silvestris (20k words) and then finally Near Light itself, which is the longest side story so far at almost 70k words. The Kazimierz triology is crazy long and it seems like we will get a continuation in the future.

The reason why the regular trailers and animations are separated is that the short animations come when that story comes to global. When CN first gets it there's no animations, just the regular trailers. Also, when there are multiple version of the animations like with Amiya ver. and Rosmontis ver. in Roaring Flare or when there are reruns like in Heart of Surging Flame, there's different dialogue being spoken. Most might not care, but it could add to the context that you're looking for. Also, watching the regular trailers alongside these animated ones will provide even more context. Also, the in-game art/eye candy is always nice to see.

11:15 I think this is a strength that the game's story actually has, often times i am left beating a boss, and feeling like there was no victory. There are a few here and there that i definately feel like there was a villian, but not often, and it feels very solemn. not to say there arent villians, but for the most part, its... i dunno. . . . . . . . . The biggest one is Patriot. We had to stop him, we had to throw everything we had (at the time) at this brute... yet, when the dust settles, i felt sorrow, and pity, because that wasnt a just fight. He was betrayed and thus betrayed the world back. He had lost and fought us because even if he could come to terms with the fact that his daughter basically chose to die by our hands, at the end of the day, we still killed his daughter. We were still wrong in some aspects. I felt relief for finally beating a tough foe, i did not feel victorious.

For you who still don't play the game (yet?). The new event has absolutely beautiful and sad lore in the event and there are only 2 operators (characters that we could play) all the characters that appear in the story is all new, most of them is normal villagers or the super villain, or even undercover agents from many different sides. This event is so special because we have 2 bosses, 1 is the villain in the story we already know when reading the story, but 1 is the one that we can't expect, all the story in the event lead to the boss in the last stage which is very sad =( So I think that is what you expected from the boss in context

The relationship the events have with the main story is that they take place before, between (more on this in a bit), and after the main story. The current main story goes from Chapter 0 through to chapter 10 (11 on the Chinese server I think) and the current story arc is everything from 9 and onwards (So 0-8 was the first overarching story). There's really just a few event types that the game cycles through to keep things fresh. 1) Story events (like Grani and the Knight's Treasure or Under Tides) where it tells a story and you can play through that story and farm stages for resources 2) Story collection events (like Operational Intelligence or Preluding Lights) where the stages themselves don't tell a story but you can use event currency to unlock story episodes (usually focused on a character) 3) Contingency Contract, which doesn't really have too much of a story but the premise is that Rhodes Island is taking on contracts from a network of partners which is just an excuse to sit in the event menu to listen to the songs and play challenging "end game" level content, since you can tune the difficulty by selecting from a number of modifiers (like the last CC event had 46(?) different contracts/individual modifiers) like increased enemy health or longer cooldowns for your skills 4) One off events where they're just trying something out, like Interlocking Competition or Multivariate Cooperation (Co-op) 5) After Chapter 5 or 6 main story updates became extremely slow to come by so when they release it's usually a big 'event' as well but it hardly counts as the main story obviously isn't a limited time thing, they'll run promotions or other small scale stuff but the point is they want you to play/read the new story so not much else happens to distract from that So without spoiling too much plot-wise, the first overarching story actually takes place in a relatively small amount of time, over maybe weeks or months I don't quite remember. Then at some point after Chapter 8, the Kazimierz trilogy events of Maria Nearl, Pinus Sylvestris, and Near Light happen in that order before the events of Chapter 9. Another example is A Walk in the Dust which has portions that take place waaaaaaay before Chapter 0 timeline-wise. Also while Hypergryph is working on Arknights: Endfield it should be noted that it takes place on some other planet entirely last I remember, so while certain world building concepts or themes might carry over people shouldn't expect too much overlap or returning characters/organizations.

Funny you talk about the arknights RPG game because from that game trailer and information released it's probably not in the same timeframe as arknights tower defense game because the world/star they're in isn't Terra (I think it's named Talos II). Some in the community speculate that it maybe past Terra or future Terra where they reach space exploration age. So there maybe no diverse culture in that game as you wanted, but who knows? Also thanks for the reaction! Look forward for more. As many have said Arknights EP and CC lobby theme have many banger song some of my fav is CC#2 blade, 'And yet it wanes' , 'Towards her light', 'Requiem' but of course I hope to see you react to the whole playlist as there're SO MANY varieties of music as trailer might hints.

I played arknights since day one and no kidding that Near Light event teaser made me cry. Margaret nearl or codename Nearl, that one blonde knight is one of my fave operators in Arknights. Near Light is one, if not my most favorite event in Arknights. The story is brilliant and the characters are really well done. The pegasus lady in the trailer is Margaret Nearl, The Radiant Knight. She's a legend in Kazimierz, as she's the youngest champion of Kazimierz Major. She's fighting for the infected.

About the open world/RPG spin-off, Arknights: Endfield, unfortunately, it won't be about Terra, as it entirely happens in a different planet named Talos-II, so there probably wouldn't be much information pertaining to the main game lore, this could also be wrong, as not much is currently known about the spin-off, only that the characters in it will also be ancients(the animal people) and there are some other elements in common with the main game, such as mobile cities.

Do have to love the fact that Georgiee is talking about not seeing much to the villains, when they are literally on the screen the next minute~~ I guess thats credit to Hyperglyph that they managed to design compelling villains that just dont look outright "I am evil rawr", but could look like any operator or combatant in this world. Because you know, there is no "good" sides in Arknights, just the one you are on.
