Wait until you play it on potato pc or phone and have to lowering the graphic just like Genshin 💀 and well, the engine for this game is more dated than Genshin that've been release for nearly 3 years ago, look at Honkai Impact and Genshin Impact rendering and you'll see the different, and even then, Honkai graphics will still evolve much as Genshin because they both on going game, it's just that I think Hoyo specialties are heavily lean on Mecha and Cyberpunk-ish world theme setting than DnD Fantasy theme so yea... Starrail has better character visuals on every aspect (shader, texture, modeling, effects etc) bc its turn-based nature, no real time battle. Bronya‘s silk stocking and medal ornaments, for instance, look completely next gen compared to genshin.

For every negative thing or deal breaker someone has had in their comment, it's always the reverse for me, that's why I like it even more. And that's coming from a long time Hoyo fan who's been following them throughout the shits (Early HI3, the Global anniv Bunny disaster and all that, then the Genshin Inazuma Arc and overall dip in quality of story and many more I can't even begin to list) and I dunno, maybe I just like their stuff or IP or story. Persona 5 Combat + Genshin roaming (maybe not the climbing and stamina bar) + Honkai bubble universe = amazing for me. To everyone waiting, just hang on! It's so close now! To everyone who isn't interested... i dunno, it's alright? What am i supposed to say jkhfghjka I'm sad that you don't like it but there's a bunch more games that hopefully fit you!

idk if am in the wrong places, but I've encountered more hi3 players complain: 1. that it's boring and not as action paced as peak mobile action gameplay hi3 (they might be right as I heard hi3 is more action than gi, but now I'm disinterested to try) 2. there's no dialogue skip 3. being gatekeepy to the honkai IP if you weren't playing hi3 beforehand or know the characters that are in both games which I find unfortunate as someone new to hoyo games but wanting to go for star rail as a turn based fan. Not the best first impression esp w ppl who get joy from others annoyance, but I'll play this game regardless of the community!

True it's not action but this is just genre issue. Turn-based shouldn't be more action. Plus HI3rd already have this kind of events and most of players love it. And to be honest most of HI3rd players will play in this game for lore and characters what we love like Himeko. 2. I think this is just temporarily. Game still on beta. 3. Well as a part of HI3rd community I can tell that's not true for most of part. Yep somebody will tell you "you must play honkai before this to get a plot!" But most tell you that HI3rd can be used here only for references, some kind of similar designs and terms. It's like with MCU, somebody can tell you read a comics first, but there is nothing wrong to try start it with movies. This kind of guys is everywhere. There is no perfect community, alas.

The FMC's design is just friggen great. It's funny in that they are practically the same design, but I just really like it on the FMC. There are a few animation differences that really stand out too. The FMC holds the bat like a sword, and when powering it up she does an unsheathing animation. Her swings with it are also more controlled and elegant. The Male MC holds it more like a bat and swings hard, there's a feeling of more power to the swings. One thing I hope they change is giving the MC more voiced lines. While it's great that there's no character that directly talks over the MC, it does seem like the MC is still unvoiced and has minimal lines outside of dialog choices. They have chosen some great VAs for their MCs, it would be a huge shame not to be able to hear them more often.

I do like turn-based RPGs, but this just doesn't cut it for me. Next to no customization of the characters as compared to games like Bravely Default, older FF series or Trails series, this is really bare bones except for pretty graphics. They should have at least made it tactical, like Fire Emblem or Triangle Strategy, then it can be more interesting. Seeing they are already into the final closed beta, I doubt there will be major changes, so this is an easy skip for me. For ZZZ on the other hand, looks like Mihoyo knows what they are doing. Of course, with their experience from Honkai, they are experts at fast-paced action games now. ZZZ seems a more worthy successor to Honkai Impact.

@@kimalkim7718 nah, I gotta say I play a lot of paid action games as well. Even stuff like Nier, scarlet nexus and stuff. Honkai does have something that keeps sucking you back to the gameplay. I guess it is the different modes, the satisfaction from the QTE rotation, variety in ER etc. ZZZ is looking to be a more polished version of it. And no, these aren't designed to be free. These are designed to make money for the company through gacha, which means it needs to be attractive enough to make people want to spend money. I've thrown hundreds at Honkai and Genshin, but Star Rail is a no go for me.

@@ivanap1846 I agree with his opinion. I think it's a bit fun at first that it's a turn-based game, but gradually it gets monotonous. In my opinion, due to its graphics and animations, a Fire Emblem-style game (as Archeland did) would have been better, at least that way it would have felt more dynamic and entertaining, as well as it would have forced the players to think a little more during the battles.

@@BedivereD Then this style of game is simply not for you, The combat they are using in star rail has a mix of a lot of other succesful turn based gachas like epic seven and persona. So for us turn based players is perfectly normal and really enjoy it. I personally am very excited for it and not as a novelty.

It looks so boring for me. I grow up playing turn based JRPG games but this doesn't give the same vibes. Too flashy for my taste.

Just typical mihoyo stuff tbh. Flashy, looks interesting on surface, but lacks actual depth. combat is still mihoyo biggest flaw when it comes to games, they have hard time balancing the game between making it easy to understand and complex at the same time, so most of the time it's becomes easy and lacks depth. Genshin is pretty interesting and does have some depth for you to explore if you care, however the game itself advocates against it because it intentionally hides mechanics from you and makes content way too easy for you to care. HI3 is prime example of flashy game without depth. Majority of the endgame content is designed around specific characters, and if you don't have those characters then the game will make you struggle in the most artificial way possible. That's mihoyo "hard" Content for you. And hsr is somewhere between these two I suppose.

@@kiuhh1118 I agree. I tried Honkai Impact 3rd and it really lacking on depth. Not mentioning the UI and mechanics are terrible. I liked Genshin because of it's elemental combinations/reactions. mechanics.

@@crystallitex6311 genshin is an example of a reeally good deep combat in real time, the enemies lack some fast patterns that would make the game more challenging, if they took genshin combat and improved it would be perfect ( like elden ring did with all soulsborne and sekiro )

@@dragunajj2238 I see, but I just cannot see it makes sense to make a whole another game just for a slight faster combat as this is an online game, profit is obtained while the game being live. By the way in case you haven't know, they got another project called Zenless Zen Zero, not exactly what you would like, but they got faster combat style and potentially more challenging content.

@@crystallitex6311 you dont got my point brother, im not saying that they should make a game just for this, take again from software for example, they did lots of shitty games before getting into demon souls that was inovative, in fact a whole new genre of games the "souls like" and with this gold mine on their hands they improved it to the point that they are one of the best companies in the world of gaming (2 goty awards), what hoyo is doing there is instead of improving the base game of honkay or genshin they put a TON of money on a game that is visually good but brings nothing to the table its just a generic turn based game.... you may not agree with me but when this game die within 6 months you will understand me.
