Laurel and Hardy were probably the best comedy duo of all time. In this day and age when intellect is put before genuine and honest humour, you will NEVER see the likes of these two genius' again. Sadly.

Over here in England they used to be shown on BBC 2 opposite the BBC 1 News. My parents were Irish and because of the typical news stories in the 70s and 80s and the obvious BBC criticism and expected fall out my folks switched over. Good God, we laughed so much as any family unit and I learnt later that they were a tonic to every immigrant community at the time. Not the same demographic then. Anyway, I rang my sister a couple of years back and I asked why her son was laughing so much. Guess.

Ollie's version is quite comical. Ty Parvis's version, which became an ear worm to Ollie is awesome. The version by Ty keeps getting removed. I suspect this clip will get removed too. Anyway, check out Ty at kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYuwpayDaNR_qrM

The best! Interesting (yet cringeworthy for a ukulele player) point to note, the ukulele that Ollie falls on is a Martin ukulele, now currently worth £500 and up!
@jboyshyne10 жыл бұрын
Martins went for $11 back then. Note, however, that when Ollie falls on the uke, it ain't a Martin it's just some cheap prop. It's obvious by the way it shatters into a bunch of little pieces. All the same, Ollie was smashing ukes long before Pete Townsend was smashing ghee-tars
@DaChaplyn13 жыл бұрын
@wcampus It was on youtube and then it was removed and now I put it back. It truly is a classic uke clip and needs to be shared. Ollie's uke looks like a Martin, but when he falls on it, it's a prop. Doesn't matter cuz Martins only cost $10.00 back in the day.
