I notice that HPD only have blue and white strobe which is kind of cool, it's not like over here in Vallejo where they have blue, red, white, and yellow strobe.

All police departments in the country should be blue and white only in my opinion

Using them Whelen Core-R lighting systems over in 3:24 is so nice. Much safer for the eyesight yet still alarming.

I’ve never seen an unmarked car with a blue mini lightbar on top.

Dangggg, Honolulu PD STILL running Vics? Props to them
@hnl_emerg_photoАй бұрын
There’s quite a few left out there mainly from districts 1 and 6. I still have yet to get one responding.

LAPD and SFPD still use Crown Vics.
@deltaresponsesАй бұрын
@@johnarat9618 Yeah, I know, a lot of departments (especially the bigger ones) in California have quite a few. Most of those are reserve, though- very few are still in active service.

I think my sheriff's office still operates maybe 1 or 2 Vic's.

What’s the story with the random cars with one small blue light on top ? They r all unmarked
@hnl_emerg_photoАй бұрын
Those are called subsidized vehicles. They are vehicles that are purchased from the officers with financial support from the department. The small blue light on top indicates that the officer is on duty and can be taken off when off duty. They are the officers personal vehicles as well.

@@ATF1985Check out one of our retired Honolulu police officers that moved back to Michigan. His channel is “Doug Korenic”. He explains a lot about our police department and crime
@FL_2000OАй бұрын
@@ATF1985There's a handbook publicly released by HPD every year on what vehicles qualify. The program exists primarily because of shipping issues to the island making it difficult to get actual police cars, plus department funding issues often preventing them from bulk buying like many other departments. A lot of departments used to have these programs, although the big city ones mostly disbanded them in the 50s and 60s. Smaller departments disbanded them later for anyone other than specialized units or detectives. Lots of concerns over police impersonation drove the disbandment. If you ever watch the Tom Selleck Magnum P.I or the original Hawaii 5-0, they sometimes feature subsidized vehicles.

that 2nd video.....was that the pursuit fatality with the palauan kid? killing 3 pedestrians? One day, I hope to see you film CRU and SSD response.....some of them actaully drive subsidized pickup trucks that you would not know that its a patrol vehicle......they probably need it because they have to portray undercover work.
