This passage of scripture is God's plan for caring for the widows within each individual congregation. It also lays out the parameters for how it is to work. It is MY job and obligation to take care of my aging/widowed mother, NOT the governments responsibility. I would content that God's plan is better than anything plan contrived by sinful men.
