A really helpful review of your genuine usage of the phone. I especially like how you use a split screen when needed. Like where you showed a screenshot of the refresh rate settings menu - lets the viewer see the actual experience as opposed to hearing that you can select "dynamic mode". 0:54

I’m an avid iPhone user for over 10 years now and every now and then get the urge to try something different. My wife has gone from iPhone to an S23 Ultra and loves it while I’ve always had a soft spot for Honor/Huawei. My only concern is the software and updates for this phone, if you can maybe do a video regarding the updates for this phone when they arrive that might sway me.

Hi, thanks a lot. I agree the zoom isn't very good if I'm honest. I've had better results with older phones. If you don't need to zoom your fine or if you want to zoom 5x it's brilliant but more and you can notice things. The rest of it though is soo so good. S23 ultra is a mega phone aswell 👍🏾

Great review, I'm on the fence whether to keep it or not coming from the pixel 7 pro. Many photos are inconsistent. When they are good they are great. I hope Honor will keep refining the camera, but I'm not confident. They are not good with monthly security patches let alone making improvements especially as they have been ranked no.1 on dxomark. Not sure how they achieved that! Mine runs hot and the battery isn't great. Maybe needs a factory reset which isn't good as I've only had it for 2 weeks and not loaded many aps. I like your style of review. It's unique and not annoying like so many others. Subscribed if I haven't already!

Thankyou for the kind words about the review. Appreciate it. Tbf I'm not 100% sure how they got the dxo scores either. I think it must be out of a lot of photos they rank the best or something. I hear you in regards to the camera not always being good. For me the majority of the time it's really good. The odd time I've tried things like the motion capture and it failed miserably but the other times it's been perfect. Hopefully they refine it with updates. Mine doesn't run hot at all so that might be your unit? And my battery is mega so not sure if yours may be defective? Might need to contact Honor about that?

Mine stays cool and the battery is great, maybe you got a bad egg, I'd try a factory reset if I was you if that doesn't work swap it. The phones great

And honestly saying this, Honor Magic 6 Pro overall isn't bad at all, but the issue is that they ain't trying to fix it through the software updates. Even if they did it, it would take it decades for their slow updates. And guess what. It was addressed already when was launched in the China, which is 2 months ago as it still hasn't been fixed yet. And even the Honor Magic 5 Pro has better processing stability than the Honor Magic 6 Pro which failing with the Post Processing and the Video Stabilization, which is big deal.

My honest thoughts.. I love it, honestly. I've read and seen some bad stories but I can say it's been almost faultless. My issues are the camera colours when going from main camera to like 2x zoom..the colours change slightly. Noticeable but not in a bad way just different. It's a bug of mine. Another issue is the keyboard, less of an issue because I swipe text but sometimes I type it all out. It's not always correct and accurate. Nothing else, everything else works well. Not had any, like any freezing or black screens. No random restarts. Nothing like that. It's been great. I'm so happy with this phone, it does everything I need. I can take shorts, edit them on here and post them and you'd never know it was all done on a phone it's that good.

Another good phone, I've only had one OnePlus phone and that was the 8 but a lot of reviews say it's a really good phone with great software. The Honor is the same I'd say but with a far superior camera and battery.

Honor magic 6 ultimate ❤ I was a previous Vivo x100 pro user. For the honor magic 6 ultimate from 2.5x 5x 10 x good detailed results. But above 10x is not recommended. For good and detailed 2x 5x super macro photos. And for Magic OS it is very useful with Apple-like features. Back again to individual tastes for the respective colors of Vivo or Honor...

What's the Vivo like? There not popular in England, not sure how I'd buy one to be honest. I agree with the 10x zoom, above isn't worth it. And the software and personalisation is pretty good on the Honor so I'm happy with my purchase so far. Let's see how it stacks up after a few months

I can tell you why there are so many critics about it the Honor Magic 6 Pro, but it's not hardware problem, but the camera's and video's software issues that haven't fixed already! Because: 1. Camera color inconsisteny (contracty and saturated sometimes) 2. Pictures sometimes become Hit or Miss, even when it's the same place just in different position, they become very different from each other, which one of them is very good, but when shot again - It missed the details and colors 3. Zoom at 5x range, it becomes very sharp and very saturated, that sometimes it start to hurt eyes, when you shot many photos with telephoto camera 4. Video stabilization is bad, It sometimes even jugling it even when you just walk, but when running is like smartphone without stabilizator in 2024. and when zooming it, it becomes even worse than a mid-tier smartphone 5. Video performance is just ok, but when you start zooming, it starts to fix colors from blue to black and etc. And there are actually even more issues with it, starting from that the AI processing everything trying to smooth everything out- details, color corection, faces, and bassicaly everything in photo as it becomes trash photos, as it the video performance tho. This is just not okay with 2024 flagship smartphone. I was expecting more of it!

In my humble opinion the Honor takes it for the deals you can get along with the spec of the phone. It's very similarly spec'd to the Samsung only camera and battery are different. Camera is subjective,some will say Honor or Samsung. But the battery is clear cut Honor all the way. Overall the Honor is a beast you have to respect 👍🏾

I've used Huawei forever but without GMS I've been having issues. Samsung is overrated and I don't like apple so I've been searching for a worthy replacement for my Huawei P40 Pro. I went in to a store where I met with an Honor representative where I could see a live unit and try it out. These are my takes (I have now bought it). I was adamant that I did not want the green. But after seeing the green in real life I was so taken back. It is gorgeous and video and pictures don't do that colour justice. I actually ended up choosing the green. It's subtle, unique and makes a statement without being over the top or gaudy. The cameras really surprised me especially the zoom. Way better than I expected and better than my P40 Pro which has a 5x optical lens. I agree I wouldn't go above 30x but all great nonetheless. And I do understand why it's number 1 on DXO mark.

I think they will make a software update for 100x zoom with AI feature similar to Xiaomi 14 ultra that will make the picture somehow usable.

Looks amazing.😊 Than about the comparison against the S24 Ultra many are saying when the S Pen is not important for you than is the Magic 6 Pro are better phone. Ive tested both. And tested it against the 15 Pro Max. And i keep the Magic 6 Pro as my daily driver for now. I waiting for the P70 series of Huawei to come out. But i think until now nothing can beat the 6 Pro for now.

how is this phone's compression to instagram uploads? we all know that IOS looks better than s24 when uploading vids and pics on stories and posts but how does this one hold up to it?

The compression is good for Instagram but like all android phones, Instagram is best suited for iPhone unfortunately. Although on the Honor it is really good and the quality is great I don't think you could really tell the difference unless you were trying to find something. So for most people they'd mlbe more than happy. Me included 👍🏾

It's almost mid-August 2024 and can say that between the Honor Magic 6 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Honor Magic 6 Pro is the better option in terms of specs and value for money. I have watched several reviews of each phone and came to this conclusion. A third phone I have been looking at that comes close to these 2, is the Honor 200 Pro phone. It's aimed at camera enthusiasts, but overall it's a great option too.

Battery life overnight isn't an issue. if it's 30% when you go to sleep just whack it onto the charger while you shower in the morning and it'll have more than enough juice for the day. It charges in minutes

No it's not an issue at all. Battery life is great. I do, do that, don't charge it over night just top up in the morning. Recently it's been lasting 2 days nicely so mega impressed

It comes with one straight out the box that's pretty good. I did buy a glass screen protector off Amazon but haven't put it on yet. The one out the box is holding up really well so far. Ino this phone is meant to be drop resistant but I'm not taking any chances and if I was you keep the one on it it comes with or get yourself a glass one 👍🏾👍🏾

You have to hold the icon you want to move and then your able to move them? If you can't do that then I think it's something in the settings you need to change 👍🏾

Can I get some opinions please . I’m really torn between this phone and Samsung s24 ultra. I made the mistake of going to Apple and I don’t want to make the same mistake again . I don’t like how restrictive Apple is . I’ve never had a honor phone . Are they restrictive like Apple ? Can you get the same apps as you can on Samsung ? Regarding software updates do you get as many as you do with Samsung ? Mainly I’m looking for a decent camera. My son is autistic and is constantly moving . I’ve heard the motion sensor on this phone is better than Samsung is that correct ? Hi, so I made the mistake of going to apple phones, it was a while ago tho 7 plus days. Honor is android so not restricted in the slightest, that was the biggest issue I had with apple . So your good there, secondly you won't have any issues with flickering screens or anything like that, this is industry leading so your fine there aswell. You can get all the same apps on Samsung as you can on Honor thanks to the play store. All the apps you need you'll find in there 👍🏾. Camera is brilliant, battery is mega and the screen is too notch so I think this would be a great phone for you and for your son to use as well 👍🏾

From what I've used it for so far the videos are great, all my shorts on here are using the Honor cameras and there pretty impressive little things if I say so.. I've not done much walking and taking while taking video but what I have done using it are great

I've only tried it on WhatsApp video call and can say it's as good as I'd expect. Nice and clear no issues with it at all. It's only been good with me, I've not had any issues with it

So far what's your opinion of Honor updates? I've read some comments that Honor is not good in terms of giving updates. What is your experience so far?

I think, since owning the phone I've had 2 updates. So since it's realise to my knowledge 2. It's only been out a month or so here so pretty good so far. I've not found anything broken with the software or hardware so I would say at the minute not necessary to do another update. So, so far so good I'd say but it is early days. I'm not sure about this I'm afraid. Maybe your mobile data isn't fast enough or your battery is charged enough? I'd try again on full charge. It should do it. I'm pretty sure I did mine over cellular data

I got mine yesterday about 17:00 about evening time when I inboxes it was on 16 procent installed some apps updated the phone, and charge it after I installed everything from 18:00 til nog 11:22 I still have 46 procent left I woke up with 68, I already did some things shot some pictures and the phone is still giving no sings of its going empty I think 2 day or maybe 3 days with minimal use is very possible

Why is what? It's the best option for eyes as it has best in class screen. It doesn't flicker so it's not a strain on the eyes like other phones

Nobody did it but you. I am currently a Xiaomi Redmi 6 user. I'm looking to upgrade to a new phone. Have you heard of Nothing, the company? Wish you could compare Nothing Phone 2 & Nothing Phone 2a to Honor Magic 6 Pro. The "reviews" that already made by some don't satisfy me. I need someone to make a direct comparison between Nothing Phone 2a and Honor Magic 6 Pro. Curious question: did I saw that right? Does Honor Magic 6 Pro has a horizontal battery icon in status bar? And had you ever felt like when you using a Honor Magic 6 Pro - had it have you a vibe of using an iPhone?

Yeh definitely heard of nothing. I had looked at their phones but I really wanted a really good phone camera and good battery. They're cameras aren't bad but nothing to shout about, also they pride themselves on being an apple alternative, that's not what I want I want an android phone. Using this phone has similarities to all phones iPhone included but the ease of use and customised features it has makes it a different phone entirely to iPhone. It's not an iPhone clone at all whereas the nothing is trying to woo customers away from apple with the similarities to it.

Do you mean the speakers? I've had a lot of time with it now and the speakers are quality. Definitely not the best I've ever heard. But they are very very good and the loudness is also pretty decent

Oh I disagree with that. The screen is very bright in the sun. Direct sun at that. I've had no issues with the screen at all.

@@JustStephen89 Yes, I understand. I saw enough of beautiful reviews and yesterday I bought this phone to replace my iPhone 15 pro max. But in direct sunlight and even indoors, the screen glares a lot. and in direct sunlight the Honor screen shows nothing at all. but on the iPhone everything is clearly visible. it's a pity. The phone is basically good. but his screen ruins everything. that's why we'll never see this phone compared to an iPhone in direct sunlight. and in those reviews where you can see the Honor screen, you can see what a mirrored screen it has.
