Using the Chinese version of this phone, as I live in China. Got the green one too, and it looks great. Camera is fantastic, and screen looks amazing. Upgrading from a Redmi K30 Pro I though the pill would bother me, but honestly I barely notice it most of the time, and the face unlock is super fast and works every single time, with or without glasses, and even when I'm wearing big cycling sunglasses. The Chinese version has a couple of niggles related to Google services, as well as an issue where it seems to not be possible to use an alternate launcher, but overall I'm very happy with the phone. Here in China it comes with a case and a 100W charger, too! Great review as always.

Very interesting phone! Coming from a Huawei phone (P30 Pro), I guess this Honor would be a sort of...smooth transition. 999,90€ the bundle discounted (limited time offer). Not fond of spending 1,000€ for a phone, but nowadays it's impossible to spend less if you want a cameraphone, and this guy here looks like a cameraphone. Thanks for the review, Chris!

​@@pkulicz I am extremely satisfied. I think this is the natural upgrade. You will have a very familiar feeling when using this since you can tell the Huawei vibe all around. My biggest complain at the moment is the Portrait mode. For some reason when you enable it, goes by default to 2x, and you can only jump to 1x, 2x, 2.5x and 5x but nothing in between. Also not a big fan of the portrait mode quality, it lacks the wow effect from the P30 Pro, kind of lame. Other than that I am really happy. Also the battery lasts around 36-40 hours a day. Android 14 (P30 was stuck in Android 10 and it is a matter of time where apps will stop working). You won't regret the change!

Great video. Also like that the 15 minute video recording limit is not there anymore. Especially like the colours with their Classic LUT in movie mode. Sadly as it seems the a bit too punchy colours are still there and I think the tele lense is a bit weaker optimized so far than the Oppo Find X7 Ultra 3x Hope Honor will include me as their testers again as well as I would like to present this on my channel and analyze the camera without having to finance it on my own

Hi again. In my opinion, after studying the smartphone market for so long, I think this honor excels in Durability (jurhino glass / alias kunlun), battery life, screen. In the camera department, I think the photos/videos are good, but they are too digital and oversaturated. Bad points -> Software updates, and zoom. I am in doubs between vivo x100 pro and xiaomi 14, since xiaomi is offering a good discount and extras for me. Opinion ?

Does this phone has VOLTE or WIFI Calling? Will it be supported by the north American carriers? They are shutting down 3G and if the phone doesnt support Volte/wifi calling or if the carriers do not support the phone you wont be able to make calls anymore. Also does Honor have a trade in program like Samsung and OnePlus? I was able to trade in my Oneplus 9 for the new 12R and only pay 300bucks for the 12R. Samsung has a similar offer which makes their flagships much more affordable.

In Malaysia we get the 100w charger included, the pill cutout is not a dealbreaker at most its just preferences, not to mention the perks u get with the sensor & safety for FACE ID and dynamic island feature. The pros outweigh the cons, I don't find much negatives with it, purchased it used it for a couple of months. Best phone I ever owned so far. My previous phone was Huawei P30, I think Honor carry the Huawei DNA which I love, and non of the Google ban stuffs. I am just not fond of the rounded/curved screen, I still think a flat screen is better, and in comparison to S24 Ultra, the features I like is the flat screen and stylus. I am also missing the headphone jack in the P30, cause I am an avid wired earphones user, I do have wireless buds but I prefer wired. If HONOR can make a phone that packs all the HONOR MAGIC 6 Pro features, and include a stylus, earphone jack, non curved display with the anti-glare screen like Samsung S24 Ultra, that would be the BEST PHONE of the year (for me) no doubt.

Does the Honor Magic6 Pro have a desktop mode? Main camera is may be a bit better than Magic5 Pro, but still need sw updates. Telephoto is definitely better on Magic5 Pro, better to have 3.5 optic zoom than digital cropping from huge mpx sensor. Other things looks like small changes or updates then next model upgrades. OnePlus 12 feels much better choice than this. Or stick with Magic 5 Pro.

Is it that amazing for the price? I mean it's pretty great, but I feel like considering how close it is in price to Xiaomi 14 Ultra and how much more expensive than OnePlus 12, it's in a bit of an awkward spot. What hurts it the most for me is that the software is still surprisingly unpolished. Also i know it may be just me, but having a small camera cutout in the screen I can deal with, but this huge pill/island is very distracting. I actually wish companies would move the front punch hole camera to the corner instead of the middle. Even if it makes the phone look not symmetrical, it means that when you watch something or game on the phone vertically, your hand will probably cover that camera anyway.

Hey Chris, as you have used all of them, what would you recommend? I really need Android Auto so Chinese versions are not for me, otherwise I'd have gone for the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. So the remaining options are the Honor Magic6 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra or Vivo X100 Pro. I also really need good battery life, but also a great camera. I currently have the OnePlus Open, the battery life is just OK for me, I need better, cameras are great I think, just 4k60fps lens switch is missing while recording, and something is wrong with the modem on my Open which hinders my hobby as a mobile network tester. Xiaomi 14 Ultra (€1200 in NL): - Best main sensor (1"), versatile zoom, but small zoom and ultrawide sensors - Awesome video recording, ability to switch lenses in 4k60 (all of these 3 have it though), 4k120 recording - Great screen, haptics. No proprietary charging tech(?) - But bad battery life I have seen in multiple tests, way worse than my OnePlus Open when unfolded Honor Magic6 Pro (€1000 in NL): - Average main sensor (1/1.3'), just 2.5x zoom albeing a large zoom 1/1.49" sensor, small ultrawide sensor (smaller than HM5 Pro, which I think its ultrawide was really poor on) - 4k60 lens switch, good video recording - Awesome battery life, screen - Weak haptics, proprietary charging tech - But all-round really good Vivo X100 Pro (€1200, have to drive to DE for it): - Really good 1" sensor, overall great in all tests online with really good processing, amazing zoom lens 1/2" 4.7x, small ultrawide - 4k60 lens switch, good video recording - Great battery life, screen, haptics - Proprietary charging tech, unclear update future as its almost not available in EU, probably lower resale value - I test mobile networks as a hobby, unclear how good the modem in the Dimensity 9300 is What would you say? It's really hard to choose, as I feel I have to pick my poison. If only the Oppo Find X7 Ultra was released worldwide, we have to wait for Oppo until next year.

I've seen unboxings that came with 100W charger and case in the box.. This one doesn't.. So I'm guessing this is the global version? Anyone know if there are any technical differences between the Chinese and global version? I'm asking because the Chinese version is much cheaper than the global one.

Yeah global version comes without charger. Chinese one has the charger. If you buy it you can get the charger as well in your basket and it costs like 1 € or so

@@lltechview Thanks. Still 100s of euros more expensive than Chinese version (840 euros on Wonda Mobile). That's why I was curious about any differences in specs. I didn't see any yet. Chinese version seems to have all the 4G bands we have over here (Netherlands).

@@omarf2406 You lose the warranty if you import. Here in the UK, we get two years warranty, and it would be short-sighted to risk losing that.

Global version will have support for e-sim, android auto, VoWiFi, magic portal. For china version advantages are: more config variants (ram/flash size), more color options, charger included in the box, automatic call recording, more settings for eye tracking control

Please allow a serious question: should any adult person be using a Xiaomi phone? I'm trying to decide between Xiaomi and Honor and I'm trying out the Xiaomi as we speak. But I'm already facing bugs with Xiaomi: my phone calls dropped several times on wifi with excellent signal. I'm a bit afraid of such bugs... Thank you very much for your work!

honor going in the way of samsung and apple not giving us a charger when : they don't have much customers in europe they give a 35w charger with their tablets (useless) but not a 100w charger that obviously far less people have than a 25w charger for example overall this is a very good phone, with 3D face unlock, good cameras... but is it worth its price, when you can get a xiaomi 14 ultra for example, for less than 200€ more, which INCLUDES a charger brick ? not so sure
