Zakirbhai had an extraordinarily luminous and charismatic aura about him. He was instantly likeable and with his magical tabla virtuosity he was an ambassador at large for India, much loved and respected all over the world. Hard to believe that he is no more ! One can truly say that the world is made up of two types of people - those who saw him perform and those who didn't!!!!!!!
End of an Era, but the Legacy lives on.... Forever!! ❤🖤🌀🎶🙌

JUST A THOUGHT Just a thought... Initially it was mentioned that Ustad Zakir Hussain died of cardiac problems. Later it has been mentioned that he died of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. I recall watching a close up of his hands in a video a few days ago and spotting clubbed fingers which I assumed could have been occupational, but now I realise it could be due to IPF. I wonder whether the Pulmonary Fibrosis could have been caused by Talc, since Tabalchees use talcum powder frequently while playing... Has anyone done a prospective study of Tabalchees and IPF and whether they have a higher than normal prevalence of the condition ? If there isn't such a study, could we as a group influence our peers to do such a study through various forums such as the IMA or Indian Chest Society? Shivaji Biswas
