RIP Legend. His figure is the first thing that came into my mind when I picture a tabla player. He was the first tabla player I saw and the most memorable one.

No muslim will treat him as his ideal because they are too radical and treat music as a haram activity prohibited in Islam. But Zakir Sahab is a living legend. We will always cherish their notes on tabla ❤
@mmp4567Ай бұрын
we muslims are proud of him and his legacy you all radical hindus are just sad that he is a muslim you all want him to be hindus then only you will accept him, but we are not like you all radical hindus who wants to force other people to become hindu.
@SpiderMan-bb8hvАй бұрын
Broooo I'm Hindu but I won't agree with your comment ...do you know how much classical musicians were and are Muslims so don't talk like that

He wins life time achievement award from Aga khan Music. Music is part of all Muslim cultures.

He didn't just play the tabla; he made it sing.

Thanks to George Harrison, Van Morrison, Mickey Hart, and the US for making him a global star!! I wonder why he didn't make his home in India?? Things that make you go....hmmmm!
@comptech5240Ай бұрын
well, he could be equally famous in India as well. his main work was to expand Indian cultural music to US
@SenorSolАй бұрын
@@comptech5240 But he wasn't! He only became famous in India after his promotion by the likes of George Harrison! He would never have had the same career had he stayed in India, which is exactly why he chose to live in the Bay Area!

Seems like you already know the answer? Why would a talented musician not choose a life of fame?
@ani_ds12Ай бұрын
How does it matter, his art is a gift to the world.

@@kartikgkalita You're not asking the right question, which is why didn't he stay in India?

Why do musicians like ustad raees khan, ustad Sultan khan etc never let women of their family sing or do any kind of music. Why it's always a hindu lady or a christian lady who is classically trained and performs on stage. If music has no religion why these glorified ustads do not allow their familiy's females to join music.
