I think its great and has its place. For those complaining for the price, $90 for a ready made system thats has a growlight and is aesthetically pleasing, Id say thats fair. For the same price though I 3d printed my 7ft grow tower with Led lighting. Not everyone though is tech savy so at least these type of products can get your feet wet and introduces you to easy hydroponic gardening.

I have a large collection of units similar to these, I have the Aerogardens which are harder to clean than this one appears to be. A caveat to beginners wanting to use these is to not fill every well with a plant. As you mentioned overcrowding can become an issue and will impact quality of food. I understand you are testing the unit by maxing it out. But for anyone wanting to actually get non-spindly lettuce out of this, less is more. And keeping like with like is best too, once those green onions get taller than the lettuce you run into light issues, something burns or something goes without. Looks like a nice unit I might need to add to my collection.

This LetPot is definitely aesthetically pleasing...I like the stainless steel and the narrow depth. My husband and I use MUFGA growing systems and it appears to be equal in every way. Attractive, 12-pods, all the necessities in the kit, and comparable price. I actually prefer the MUFGA's water-level indicators which are clear plastic levels on the front of the units. You can catch a glimpse of the roots as well as cleanliness of the water. We've had 100% success with herbs, tomatoes, peppers, and kale. Once the plants got too big for the unit, though, we moved them into coolers & other bins and continue to grow them using the Kratky method (thanks for teaching us about that!) I would highly recommend these tabletop growing systems.

your timelapse segments are in my opinion, the coolest feature you provide with your videos. Can I suggest including an analogue thermometer to show the change in ambient temp throughout the timelapses? I think that'd be super cool addition. Thanks for all your hard work mate, learned alot from you and its already paying off well!!

my only gripe is all these systems are usually way over priced for what they are. better off to buy a 100-150w led grow light and use whatever you have around for the bottom.a tote and small pump. you rock hoocho! happy hydro'ing everyone!

Great review - thank you. I built my own last season, bought a vertical system too... then a traditional DWC..pedal forward and welcome to a new growing season (Canada zone 3, originally from AU 9) and I decided based on your review, time lapse and explanation to purchase x6 of these units Oct 2024. Since purchasing these units I have prepped & sprayed the skins and added decal I made with Cricut - it's so pretty now and fits my 10x8 greenhouse colour scheme LOL - THANK YOU.

Is using purified or reverse osmosis water the best to use with this system? Or how much TDS, PH, and EC ranges are recommended for optimal results? How do you monitor and manage algae, if any?

What a great hydroponic system. It looks like a really well designed unit would be so handy to grow herbs and vegetables on the countertop. Great review I really want one now.

The unit itself is ok BUT Letpot's customer service SUCKS.... I ended up only receiving half my order and constant run around by the customer service drones. I've lost $60 worth of nutrients etc with no offer of a refund nor any attempt to have their freight company actually look for it. Piss poor. Do it yourself, save yourself the grief of dealing with these amateurs.

So I am researching these table top smart systems and the conclusion im gathering is they are great for kids to learn how to grow this method and for hobbyists but for someone like myself They arent going to create enough yeild to make them woryh the cost when trying to supplemnt my diet in a tiny dorm toom sized space. I have learned so much primarily from Hoocho here ( Thank You kindly for your educational videos and also from another channel whos goal is to help keep costs down Bewtwwen the both channels i can begin my growing journey with CO FIDENCE AFFORDABLY and for an old lady on a limited income in a tiny space THIS IS PRICELESS ..and the music is great too and LOVE HIS DOG 🐕 ❤️

Everything depends on the amount of space you have. You can scale it up very easily. You can even start with singular DWC pots. Little piezo air pump (because they're very silent, if you have them like in an apartment) and you're all done. With a sunny window, you won't even need artificial light

Thank you for the review. This is my first time watching one of your videos. I found the parts where you used meters to evaluate conditions very helpful. Two, sorry, three questions. 1. How many days lapsed before taking off the humidity covers? 2. How many days lapsed to the "full grown" segment? 3. What PAR value us needed for plants to grow? Thank you Lawrence

Ive done a good bit of DIY hydro systems. This would be a lot better with a much taller bar for the light OR make a frame in the window to hang a small light. I even used a 4 bulb bathroom vanity with a combination of cheap CW, NW and WW bulbs

Nice little system, but I'd still rather build them myself. I like bigger water tanks and more space for each plant. Using for example a long pot for balconies with different plates on top for different pot sizes. But those little systems are great for beginners to get into the hobby. Not much can go wrong.

That's a nifty setup. Thanks for sharing! DO you think it possible to rig up/3D design a water gauge like that? some kind of clear plastic cup or bottle in place of the glass tube?
@rebel4466 Жыл бұрын
Should be easy to do. Glass tube wouldn't be an issue, test tubes can be bought for like 10 cents a piece. Very clear and easy to work with in terms of marking and all that. Edit: You can, for example, use a wooden skewer and a piece of cork, if you don't have a 3D printer. Just have to make sure that it can't get hooked on something when floating up and down. Doesn't need much for a similar effect. Ping pong ball also does the trick.

I have a very similar system I think the other flaw with your system is the pods are too close to grow anything other then simple herbs sure you can plant lettuce but it may not grow all the way

I'm new to this space, been doing alot of research to determine if I want to make a purchase. I must say i am very disappointed on how little people talk about the taste/quality of the actual herbs and vegs or speak about yield. Sounds like many just enjoy as a hobby but not for practically??
@rjaquaponics92669 ай бұрын
i live in Wisconsin and I have not seen germination anything close to 100%. I think it is too cold here. From sprouts forward, the"Letpot" is excellent, but not from seed. Feedback is welcome. IMHO The letpot is proficient at growing Mold vs germination etc... I prefer to use conventional germination and transplant the spouts to the Letpot. Hoocho could grow seeds in a sewer. No offense giving/meaning! Letpot is strong on plumbing issues and a good Product, but you must be in "reality" with marketing.

Dude, no. Don’t do it. And if you do, be honest with your experience and show the community why it’s “better” 1. Folks in your channel want to explore hydro to do things they didn’t know they could do. EG: “I just made salad for family” to; holy sh*t I could have pumpkins next year if I experiment 2. Your mantra of “anyone solutions” on pocket money has inspired me (if not thousands more) to explore what a successful grow can look like with “just the basics” 3. “If it’s so simple, let’s monetize it” is the scary inevitability of companies that want to make it “so easy” with all in one solutions. No one learns from a product they buy off the shelf. I’ll never criticize someone growing their own food. But you’ve done such an amazing job of showing folks that you don’t need 100’s of dollars to do so. It’s 3 simple steps. Light, seed, and nutrient. Why complicate and shill someone else’s product unless it really does produce results 10x more? I’m not a fan personally, but I know making a buck is necessary sometimes.
@Hoocho Жыл бұрын
I agree you can definitely grow more with less. But some people aren’t looking for the cheapest, and will pay for convenience. There’s a place for this system. I’m not a massive fan of table top systems really. Just cause it’s not my style. I like massively productive systems. But I did like this system. Hahah
