I used to play dice every day for years with some dudes for small stakes. I played this game where you wanted to roll 6. I swear my buddy would consistently roll like 10 6's in a row. I thought the dice were loaded, but they weren't. Dude even switched dice with me and kept doing it. It really is a skill. He had some technique to do it and pretty much won 80 percent of the games he played. Some dice players are banned from casinos because of this.

There are a few techniques for throwing dice so that they rotate an exact multiple of 360 degrees before landing flat with the number you want facing up... similar to axe throwing. The reason that we shake dice in our hands before throwing them is to illustrate to our opponents that we arent setting up for a practiced roll. That's also why craps requires that you bounce your dice off the wall.

They aren't banned because they're skilled. They're banned because they're cheating. Most casinos have rules about how the dice must be thrown. Typically, they have to hit the alligator strip, they cant leave the table, they can't go over any of the dealers/stickman's heads, they have to be thrown 1 handed, and they can't be slid. If a person is doing anything to make the dice not roll then they are just cheating and you fell for it because you don't know any better. It's only a skill game if the shooter is playing with a bunch of ignorant suckers.

Just because you're strapped doesn't mean you can't get done in, even if you know how to use it and handle yourself. There's always someone with a bigger strap, more straps, a faster draw or better/lucky shot. If you're carrying, the last thing you want to do is have to use it. End up locked up real quick with your mentality. Self defense ain't always cut and dry and it doesn't always hold up. It's fact specific to each individual situation, and then has to be judged in your favor by a prosecutor choosing not to file a charge, or a judge or jury if they do charge. And if you're committing a crime when you have to use it (like gambling), then self defense goes out the window. Bottom line is there's no amount of money that's worth killing or dying for. First roll 7 11 is a win. Anything else is point which u need to hit again before a 7.

On the come out, or first roll, you win by rolling a 7 or 11, and lose by rolling 2,3 or 12. If a 4-6, or 8-10 is rolled whatever that number is will be the point. Then the game is to roll the point before you roll a 7. On the come out, or first roll, you're favored 2:1 to win, but if you roll a point you're favored to lose. However In Florida dice the bookie has to bet double on 4&10, so you actually have equal edge on points of 4&10 and the worst edge on 5&9. Betting against the shooter will give you more favorable odds, but only by a couple percentage points. It's why the bookie is happy to not shoot. Then you have casino craps which has place bets, hard ways, odds bets, don'ts, mid roll come bets, lays, hop bets, field bets, horn bets, crap bets, all-tall-small, and on and on. Basically any die roll or wager for/against a die roll, or combination of rolls can be bet on.
