Roadblock V2 is in my top 10 favorite Joes. He always had a prominent place in my adventures. Even to this day when my 8 year old and I play Joes, I make sure Roadblock is in there, even with his broken thumb.

I always liked the fact that this version of Roadblock was dressed similarly to Crosscountry. Made them a great crew for the Havoc.

Always thought Roadblock was taken from the boxer Marvin Hagler, they look the same and are both named Marvin.

I myself have to say that while V2 Roadblock's uniform wasn't ~too~ bad, nothing beats his original. For me, that is the definitive Roadblock.

Your reviews are great. They take me back to when I started collecting GI Joes to get the 30th Anniversary mail away figures in 1993. I had most of the figures by 2007 and started getting the updated ones. But then I ran into financial trouble and had to sell them all off. But recently I started watching your videos and it rekindled my desire to collect the small Joes. So I recently began getting the 2007 updates beginning with the "Green Thirteen" plus Duke. I plan to rebuilt them release year by year. Now I am onto 1983. Thanks again for your reviews.

My grandpa was an army cook so Road Block was very special to me. I’m super disappointed that he hasn’t been given his ma deuce in so many variations. My first Road Block was this one, but as a reader of the comic I always wanted the 50 caliber and I’m dumbfounded that non of his Classified figures have come with a Browning 50 cal.

I didn't know there were so many who didn't like this version. I prefer the original but I hate the lack of bulk and muscle...still I love v2 as well, I don't see the outfit as futuristic but rather he looks more like a member of the coast guard than an army man.

Personally I always have thought version 1 was the ground trooper while v2 I always thought was a co pilot of the havoc due to the similar vests . Awesome review and keep it up.

I agree that V1 looked much better, however it was fragile like glass and broke almost immediately after I got it. V2 was sturdy enough to go on every mission for 30 years unscathed. Plus his machine gun was one of the few accessories that never got lost. So for me V2 is Roadblock. Keep up the good reviews. Wish I was going to Joecon

The FN Mag is the C6 GPMG here in Canada, and can be fired in the prone position, which would make the shoulder pad useful.

In the newer sculpt G.I. Joe action figures, this version of Roadblock comes with an FN Mini me or as American military members know as the M 249 SAW. It comes with a tripod and an ammo belt. It is pretty nice, although to me Roadblock is just not the same without his Browning M2.

have fun at joecon. roadblock will always be the cook that can rhyme in thyme. when it comes to laying down the heat or flipping the meat, he can't be beat. yes, I went there, but to be fair, roadblock is no square.

I like *three* versions of Roadblock - this one (is a new mould from his 1984 outfit, now wears light grey trousers and, in the cartoon, now had a goatee as well), his 1984 outfit (wears orange trousers and, in the cartoon, merely had a moustache) and his (late 1988) Tiger Force outfit (if I had the ability to change things in G.I. Joe, I'd have this version of Roadblock back to having merely a moustache, and I'd have his tiger striped trousers coloured orange - which would be the colour of trousers he'd be back in; his Tiger Force outfit is based on his 1984 outfit). All three versions have *black* moustaches, the Tiger Force version wears a dark green sleeveless shirt, all three versions are African-American, he's tall and slim, and he's a Joe.

Roadblock was one of the first two G.I. Joes that I received. I've always liked every single version that came out. V2 is my second favorite behind v4. That version had an awesome gun as well as a great mold and color scheme.

Just to add some contacts to the questions about the red shoulder pad. That is for machine gunners who carry their equipment. It's to provide padding while being slung over the shoulder

For my money, '86 Roadblock was a nice update for the time. In 1985, when I was really coming into my own with G.I. Joe, '84 Roadblock was a scarce commodity, i.e., everybody want one and no where on the toy shelves could they keep him very long. I feel '86 Roadblock may have been created to keep up with demand. The design, in hindsight, isn't that great. I never knew the file card was the same from '84. What may be telling, I owned only 1 '86 Roadblock in my entire life, while I have owned at least 3 '84 Roadblock's in my adult life. I think the '86 Roadblock's look was supposed to be in the barracks garrison.

Great review. Yeah was an odd figure for me one of the last of the 1986 class of figures we got and when on a trip to the snowy town of Mammoth Lakes, CA for a visit there. I love the character but this figure does not even pale in comparison to V1 that is one of the top badass figures of the Joe team. The futuristic uniform is a good point and thankfully this did not recur further in this color combo as it could almost have been tried out as an updated standard for the early Green uniforms. Have fun at joecon and look forward to your videos. Might try to get some on the spot interviews if you can find some of the toy designers or players from the line.

I know I'm late to the review but this is just a technical detail. On V1 Roadblock the tripod is placed backwards. The single leg should be forward. The little (un-detailed) tab between the two legs is for traversing the weapon in small increments. Thank You

Version 2 Roadblock has the best head sculpt but I dislike the outfit also for the same reasons you stated. It's always bugged me. Two people that are total opposites wearing the same clothes. Was Hasbro trying to make a political statement ? lol

I agree with you. However, I'm glad HCC 788 provides reasoning for his critiques. It would be nice to see a chart for everything reviewed. I'd like to know how much is in the top, middle, and bottom tiers. After reviewing a number of videos, it seems like 1% is in the top tier, 10-20% is bottom tier, and everything else is middle tier.

They'd be totally boring if they were that and didn't delve into space, and the Drednoks and whatever else. I mean, I think the Star-Viper is one of the best army builders in the entire line. But, he's an astronaut, and "GI Joe in space, blah, blah, blah." And he hates anything after like 1991, but yet has them all. Why collect figures you hate? Makes no sense.

@@christianhafer9819 Star Viper is easily the best vehicle driver of 1988. He'd definitely be in the running for best figure of 1988. You're right that he's a great army builder. He's one I still need to get. I think HCC 788 comes at it with an adult analysis while the average kid wouldn't see any flaws. Most kids only care about how fun it is to play with something.

People who stutter often speak in rime so I always saw him as a stutterer. My pastor who was in the Navy has seen guns so polished that they have turned SITLVER. So the only thing I can't disagree with you on is the color of his uniform.
