Had this as a kid, played it to death. For me it was cobra commanders tank since I didn't have a HISS tank. Then it turned into the tank battle from Indiana Jones and the last crusade.

As a kid I ignored the issue of the exposed gunner/pilot and just enjoyed the motorized function. Now it’s really hard to get past it’s absurdity. But I’m not the market for a toy, and the details are great for kids that liked real life army toys even if I’d half the size it should’ve been. Of course in its true scale it would have been to big and heavy and expensive for the target costumer.

I never had this particular vehicle when I was a kid, but I had the Mobat. I loved that tank. Even though it only held one figure and that figure was majorly exposed to enemy fire, I would pretend the crew, including Steeler was actually inside the tank during combat. It made more sense to me.

Alot of this sears exclusives were the stuff of myths and legends as a kid, knew they existed but almost never saw them. Kinda wish they had been more readable available later on as re-releases with other retailers.

I remember the early and mid 80s had awesome GI Joe toys and I owned most of them. Then in the 90s they came out with trash multi colored neon looking colors and sci fi figures. I thought GI Joe lost its realism and I was done with it.

I had the Action Force version of the M.O.B.A.T. as a kid (it might have had a different name to the GI Joe version). Does anyone remember the way these motorised toys would make the picture on your TV go all fuzzy when you had them both switched on in the same room? Or did I totally imagine that..? I remember the novelty of the motorised function wearing off pretty quickly and wishing that it had space inside to hold more figures instead. Plus it was just so noisy!
@ucitymetalhead5 жыл бұрын
they were probably very noisy in an electronic sense as well as sound.
@camcordernonsense5264 Жыл бұрын
I dont remember a Mobat problem since I lacked one. I do remember living in the boonies and my well informed ham radio operator dad, mentioning electronics and interference policies and complaining about my other toys with labels about their interference. since we lived in the boonies he was always boosting something for signal. I think some of his ham radio did interfere with our neighbors. hehehee

To answer your question about the numbers, it appears to be a serial number on the sticker inside the tank. Maybe they put one on there because it sort of qualifies as an electrical device, being battery operated?

Very cool review of the Cobra Crimson Attack Tank. Too bad it wasn't in the animated cartoon or in the comic books but if they did put the tank in then it would stir up huge disappointments among the department stores for advertising a "Sears Exclusive" toy.
