Hoodoo Gurus playing Shadow Me LIVE at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on 28 September 2024.

I went to fourteen shows on this tour and this was the only show (the very last one!) where Shadow Me was played. It clearly was not on the setlist, so the only chance I had was when the boys would take an audience request.
The only problem with that was that the crowds were about 80% male and they could BELLOW. My feeble cries of “Shadow Me” or “Baby Can Dance” were easily drowned out, and I despaired of ever hearing either.
FORTUNATELY, a guy at the Los Angeles show held up a piece of paper with 3 songs written on it, and by some miracle, Dave picked “Shadow Me.” I was so happy--Dave has said multiple times during this tour that he doesn’t know if they’ll ever come back to play in the US, so this may be the last time I hear the song live. So grateful it all came together and I got to hear one of my favorite songs.
