My only problem with Polytopia is what's shown here. After you took that city from him, it was over. You kept playing optimally and commentating, which I totally commend, but you easily could've said "welp we win" and just played casually until eventually you took him out. Once you take a big lead like that, you just snowball until you win, even if the other person plays technically better moves from then on. There's no real way for him to catch up, and there's also no real way for you to make a big enough mistake. Even if you somehow blunder the city back, that's still multiple turns of you having an extra city and him missing one.

While you're mostly right, the core of polytopia is not getting that big city taken out of nowhere. Its about knowing what your enemies are capable of and defending accordingly

Not necessarily, if he played well from then on he could win, he is playing against a really good player. Plus it was pretty dumb of him to leave it open like that, so it's not like it was unavoidable. In polytopia, it is much more skill based than luck, even if it does come down to that sometimes.

I love your style and analysis. However, when you're nearing the end of the game, and it's clear that you're dominating, just end them quickly rather than maximize strategy. It becomes cringey to watch a hyper analysis when they have 3 cities left and you have 20. I like rooting for the good guy, not a mean oppressor.
