christopher williamson the city is actually building back up, contrary to popular belief, the only reason Cleveland is declining is because of it's school system, we have cities like Chicago , or as I call it Shitcago, which has two times the worse crime rate. Not to mention companies are investing in Cleveland , not just the downtown area. Little Italy for example, looked like shit in 2007 , now it's one of the best little italy areas in the country. So no, Cleveland is not declining, it's going the way of Pittsburgh.

At 1:55 I lived near Grovewood and E 176 st back in 1960's . It was a beautiful neighborhood. Our street was and still is brick. At 2:43 we lived at 12712 Euclid , East Cleveland It was a 13 room home for 1 family.It was my dream home when I was a teen.Also at 2:14. I lived at E 93 and Hough back in the 1950's. Beautiful 2 story homes. Some 2 family . At 2:22 I believe there was once a street named Amesbury ave. This viedo brought back wonderful and sad memories at the same time. Thank you for the viedo.

Oh, c'mon guys. I am from Toronto, Canada and I have been to Cleveland and this video is just showing bad parts of the city. Downtown Cleveland is cool, great places to go at night, excellent coffee shops. Shaker Heights, Buckeye and University Circle are so cool. I even got lost in Eats Cleveland when I drove there for the first time, took the wrong exit, but people were very nice. Even though I am a white dude from out of town and all the people who came to help me were Black, there was not racial tension. They were awesome and helpful to me. All around Cleveland, people were so cool, so polite. I love Cleveland, you can say whatever you want.
@r.pres.41217 жыл бұрын
+Alex M you come from a world class city like Toronto, Canada and you find Cleveland cool and wonderful. Dude you need to take your rose colored sunglasses off. Cleveland is dying and decaying. It is just the hospitals, universities and the federal reserve bank that are keeping this decrepit relic of a town barely alive. Plus it is Ohio's most dangerous city and one of the most dangerous cities in the USA. Next thing you will be telling us that Gary, IN is a cool, wonderful place lol.
@SaleSarajlija7 жыл бұрын
@ R. Pres: Don't twist my words. That's not what I said. I said that Cleveland has its bad sides and that this video emphasizes bad aspects only. I shared my experience as an outsider visiting the city and I am not telling others what to think. I am just saying what my experience has been. And my experience has been very positive, plus I have seen very nice parts of the city and cool nightlife. I even took the wrong exit off of highway and ended up in East Cleveland that everyone was scaring me about and found all the black dudes there very helpful in telling me how to get to Shaker Heights from there. I did not experience one bad thing. What gives you the right to tell others to only share your point of view, which is negative only. I found Clevelanders to be great people, outgoing, friendly and welcoming, just like the vast majority of Americans are, in my opinion. In terms of the city's economic decline, that is a different topic. I saw construction boom in downtown core and the people are trying hard to rebuild the city. Many cities in the north of your country experience decline, Detroit for example, but that is also a different topic. As for Indiana, I have never been to the state.
@dames88007 жыл бұрын
You are right..You saw it positive, and that is they way I want you to see it!! I may have a deeper understanding of Cleveland than you..I own homes, employ people..See the positive and negative..There is a lot of both, just reality..I truly believe Cleve is on the come up..Homes are selling..Not so much in East Cleve. But I did buy an acre of vacant land in East Cleve, just to take a chance there..Close to the university..Glad to see you saw the good side..I can't wait, as I said before, to get my next visit to Canada!! Gonna party hard when I get there too!!
@SaleSarajlija7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Dame S:). I am glad that somebody sees my point here. I am not some sort of idealist who lives in la-la land. I am just stating that for every negative thing, there exist many positive ones. I saw that positive spirit in Cleveland, even though I certainly came across many unfortunate issues that this video clip describes. Good luck with your property business and welcome to Canada any time:). Toronto, in particular, has almost 100,000 Americans living here, so you will certainly feel at home, plus we are the most multicultural city in the world, which adds to its appeal. Beware of our taxes, lol and insanely expensive price of everything in Toronto. Many Americans are shocked when they visit:). As for myself, I am a HUGE lover of the United States, though, which probably comes across in my comments:).
@dames88007 жыл бұрын
I am also thankful to see my friends in Canada seeing us in good light!! Wanting to come see us!! Yes we have our issues in Cleve..There are the ones who face them in a positive light, and ones who only see negative...I see positive, yet know there is negative.. That needs to be met with positive..Thank you for visiting our wonderful city!!! You are welcome anytime brother!! I owe my crew a trip..We did Toronto a few years back..Great trip!! I want to introduce a few of my up and comer's to Toronto..Great folks..Beautiful women..Just as we have here in Ohio..Wanna hear a funny story..Try and make it brief..Summer 2001, just before 9-11..Ran into the finest black chick I ever saw..Hit on her..She speaks french only!!..( or hated me, more likely ) ..lol..I am like "What the fuck!!" A black chick speaking french..It was so funny looking back on it...As Americans would never coming over border from Detroit..Expect a hot black chick to speak French over english..LOL..It was a great trip with a wonderful memory...Ps I banged a hot one, just not as hot as that French one..lol

Had hung out off 10 Fish (10-5) & Superior, E 123rd meeting females with my homeboy all over Shaker Hts, Cleveland Hts, DTW, Westside, playing MK3 at the arcade in Randall Park Mall. Had snuck in the theater with some shorties at Severence Mall. Cleveland was live all through the 90’s It’s messed up how Chapman st in EC is the times have really changed fr i used to be in EC a lot back in the day. Duno bout that..I just responded to another one of your comments..I think there are some big moves happening here..I just bought an acre of vacant land just east of university circle in East Cleveland...Most of the area is abandoned, or old folks that have owned their homes for a long time..Small population in East Cleveland..The hospitals can buy property cheap as hell..I bought cheap as hell..I think they have possible secret plans to take over East Cleveland..Big money interests are in the area and spending big money..Just saying can't call it on my end yet..A rail bridge separates $250K condos from where property costs nearly nothing in East Cleveland 200 yards away..
@r.pres.41217 жыл бұрын
Nah both Cleveland and Toledo are done for it. Both cities are going to continue to lose population in the foreseeable future and their metropolitan areas will remain stagnant. Cleveland has been losing corporate headquarters for quite sometime and it will become a mid sized branch office and branch plant town that will become wholly dependent on big government, health care, and the universities. The only other thing that Cleveland along with Toledo and most other older northern cities will offer are low wage, dead end, service sector jobs.

@mistagunn8 жыл бұрын
Depends...that area is not bad. The reality is the Ville is poor. 99 was popular because the music...but it is not any better or any worse than any other intersection of the Clair east of MLK. The further you go into the neighborhoods the more trouble you can find yourself in. But the reality of it all is no one wants to be observed as a science experiment...so if you go exploring in the neighborhood as "danger tourist" you may find danger. Just like most hoods...in front of the liquor stores are probably where you might find a lot of miscellaneous bullish

Fleet, East 65th St. Warner Rd. and South Broadway in a way are only recent additions to Cleveland's "hoods". Up until about 15 years ago the Slavic Village (which the streets I've mentioned are a part of) was a very respectable place to live. Not anymore.

+NZ92673 . What's the worst hood in Cleveland now?
@NZ926738 жыл бұрын
+420blunted98 I'd say, the Mount Pleasant areas like where Kinsman lies as well as the Union Miles area. Woodhill and Woodland Ave. definitely up there among the worst. Basically 95 % of the east side is bad and that's includes what used to be Slavic Village.
@420blunted988 жыл бұрын
NZ92673 . Ok, cause I be seeing Cleveland on first 48 all the time. I have a friend from eastside, he said it's very dangerous now.

Here is prob the best answer to that..Do not live in Cleveland!! The suburbs are still extremely nice! For investment purpose..West Cleveland..I make good money there on my buildings. Folks got to live..If you must live in Cleveland, stay west side. It is very affordable for sure..But, if you can afford to buy at all.. No need to live in Cleveland. $100-150K gets you a modest home, in a nice outskirt area.
