What will happen with the foals when they get older? Will they stay with you?
@Rowdymotmot3 жыл бұрын
I think that is a super way to train them. Handling feet early, working with ropes like that teaching them something around their leg will not scare them. You guys are doing a wonderful job. You are right. You are setting them up for the rest of their lives.

My brother and I personally slowly broke and trained fillies through the years. We did the exact same rope trick. And lots of cuddles. Miss those days. These babies have really grown. Ranger is so tall. Is he getting lighter down his back? Thanks so much for sharing. Keep posting. I'm here.

That was beautiful. I was thinking the same thing, that you are training them for the rest of their lives and that is so important not only for them but the people around them!

Ranger wanting to get in this video lol, it looks like Sage was falling asleep when Jordan was picking her hooves up, it’s made my day seeing these beautiful little babies, won’t be calling them babies for much longer Camille they’re all getting so big, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧

This is great ! Also brush them a bit and lean over them to brush the other side where you are not standing (without putting weight of course). They will become comfortable with the idea of a rider above in a very natural way like this. I did this with a filly I cared for when I was only 14 (and same as you for halter, feet etc) and everything was just "normal" for her, so when she was 4 and we started to ride her a bit there was no fear, no resistance, just magic !

It’s so important to sack out horses, because in nature, they’re a jumpy herd animal that has survived for thousands of years due to their extremely fast impulse to run away from danger. Horses are so alert and skittish, but it’s just how they’re designed. The more kindness and calmness that’s introduced to them when training, the better they are with riders, and they will have better lives if they’re trained well.

Dude, these people are just a couple living in the middle of nowhere, who rescued a few foals, and train horses. At no time have they claimed to have rewritten the book. People follow them because they are kind. You have learned nothing.
