It is not always the best option to train to get in the ring for fun or money risking brain injuries. Most of the times it is better for someone to train for health, joy, confidence, protection of weak relatives, philosophical practice etc. You can serve martial arts giving a show in the ring or teaching student but remember that the main purpose of martial arts is to serve your needs and not you being slave to the martial art. Firstly martial arts must serve you and then and only if you want you can give back to martial arts spreading the good word to other people. But it is always your right to take everything from martial arts and not give back anything. There are already many fighters experimenting on martial arts and many teachers if other people want to learn from them. So you can only take from martial arts and don't give back with no remorse. This is the art of thinking in a way you are not becoming a slave to the art.

Years ago I started training with two pounds bag gloves and a 20lb weight vest. With the intention of building endurance and power. I did build a lot of stamina doing it as I was doing 3 ten minute rounds in the heavy bag. So when after a couple of months I took off the weight vest and heavy gloves, I was really fast and had a ton of endurance. *BUT* , I found out that I wasn't hitting nearly as hard without the added 24 lbs. I felt like Thor or The Hulk when I'd pound the bag with those 2 lb gloves and weight vest on.😆
