Pre-ordered, always nice to find lesser advertised gems from this channel.

I have been loving this game lately. I discovered it thanks to this video back in May, and it was hard to track down a copy then, but I found a retailer that had it. I really think this game deserves more attention. Turing Machine made it to the BGG hotlist, and this deserves that amount of attention much more so.

Sold! I'm right there with you guys on deduction. Sleuth is good, but you know, it's dry. Add word guessing to that, AWESOME!

Letter Jam is a good word deduction game too. This looks like a little cleaner design.

I would preorder this but i just bought Cryptid about 2 weeks ago and we have been playing that non stop. So right now we already have our deduction game of choice. This does look cool though maybe in a year or two ill pick it up.

I really like hooky. Also, I did have the pleasure of meeting James and playing multiple games with him. You’d have a hard time finding a nicer guy.

Seems like it could be tricky to publish it in different languages as letters like Q, V, X are not present in many languages.

I almost didn't watch the video because of the cover: I did think it was a kids game, specially because Chris and Wendy have reviewed this line of kids games recently.

Kinda reminds me of Break the Code. Also some similarities to the new Fiction game?

Is there any variant or way to play this at 2p?

Unfortunately not. It would require a dummy player or something like that. Otherwise you know for sure everything not in your hand is in your opponent's.

For my own sanity, they did spell losers as "Loosers" on purpose, right? Keeping the theme of spelling school incorrectly.

You can play a diy version of this game by simply getting kids flash cards, and using tokens for round counters, you make a game sheet and your set.

Sure, if you literally are aiming to NOT GIVE TO CHARITY. Why on earth would you not want to support the game?

No one is going to play your crappy DIY, though.

It seems assumptions are made ie the OP has means and access to the game. If a person, say a young, impoverished kid from Mumbai, were to make a DIY copy of this game, would users on this channel attack them for violating copyright and actively not wanting to donate? My point is, I personally would not judge someone I do not know. And that’s the problem with YT - you don’t know who people are or where they are coming from.

@@Poiuytrew.Q I don't want to get in a big argument. Let's just say this. A lot of people put it a lot of hours of free work, from gamers to artists, so the game is an all-volunteer effort to maximize any money getting over to the schools, and it is copywritten. Hence, my reaction. Moreover, the core of the game was designed by one of the nicest guys in gaming, and he died really young. He wanted this to benefit the charity. I have no idea of the financial circumstances of the OP or the intent of suggesting a DIY. As for the kids in Mumbai and the tribal region, they generally survive on about $2 per day per family and would not be able to make a DIY. They have to go to a print shop, the cost of which could not be a priority. Subsistence is the priority. Additionally, most live in a space small enough that they have to make careful decisions about what to even bring in or store in their typically one-room living space. In any case, it's for ages 14+, but I personally bought copies and mailed them at my expense to the schools. I am trying to do my part here.

@@Poiuytrew.Q I believe you are the one making assumptions. The OP has his own KZbin channel that you could have looked at to see that he in no way is a poor child from Mumbai. He’s a young man who engages in many activities that he enjoys. He probably thought it was clever to say you could get a set of flash cards and what not to skirt around purchasing the game. However, it skirts around the true cause of the purchase of the game the actual charity to the slums of Mumbai. And yes I said slums, because that’s what they are called the people who live there call them the slums, the country calls them the slums because that’s what they are living in. Mumbai has a huge slum area, my husband is Indian and knows all too well about the conditions of the area even though he himself is not from there. They need the money for these people, not people looking for ways to skip ways of donating. If you simply don’t like the game that’s all fine, but don’t encourage people, poor or not, to go around the purchase and donations to get a game that is meant to help extremely poor people who don’t even have clean water and literally have a garbage dump outside their front door. So yes, I will take exception to OPs suggestion of skipping out on the donations and I will take exception to you defending by way of trying to say others are bad people for pointing out that this is wrong. Don’t use poor people as your justification for someone doing something wrong, because the people in the slums of Mumbai are actually people trying to live honest hardworking lives and by you implying that it would be one of them doing illegal things to gain a game is extremely insulting to their entire community. Stop trying to defend everyone by throwing other people under the bus just because you want to think that poor people would do illegal things and it would be okay with everyone. They wouldn’t and people wouldn’t so stop it. And if you are upset by this, that’s fine because I am upset by your post as well.
