bought my first r33 gtr, midnight purple tomei 2.8l smaller turbo makes 700awhp. i have a few 1000hp cars but the gtr you have to actually drive. i cant explain it.

I used to import them into australia years ago. The r32 33 and 34 in standard trim are boring cars to drive. The turbo lag is the worst ive ever seen. They dont stop well or handle well and are not that fast. You have to modify them properly so they can be a godzilla. And when you do they are special

In 1993 when I was a kid my dad's friend who was an aircraft engineer, bought a Brand-new Mitsubishi 3000gt or in NZ known as the Vr4 GTO, it was twin turbo 3.0L 4wd, he called it the poor man's Ferrari, I thought it was the fastest and also biggest car on the road. I've been more powerful cars since but that memory of that feeling remains.

3ltr cast blocks are very common in Australia as the came out in the 1986 Holden VL commodore and Australian Nissan skyline. That’s why we have so many GTR’s with 3ltr bottom ends👍

Larry you keep saying 1st time being introduced to this style, or that you've seen time attack, grip racing, drift builds ,show etc but not drag GTR's to this level etc well 1 I'm a bit shocked & 2 I hate to break it ti you but not only is this type of drag gtr build not started by Aussies and definitely isn't anything new. You really haven't heard of a "little" club out of Japan called RH9?(rh9 specifies must be 9 second on street tires ) You never once watched HPI videos or read an option 2 coverage of HKS street drags, central circuit super drag festivals, Sendai highland drag, street fighter class, etc? The signal r34, the veilside r34, endless garage 8 second street r33, JUN r33 etc literally countless GTR's from all over Japan from a variety of top shelf tuners all street cars on street tires all running low to mid 9's some in the high 8's and this well over a decade ago so not even close to the tech, tires, & turbos etc available today when I think of a drag GTR I think central circuit street fighters they were the first to do it and the best to do it some of the coolest, fastest, most bad ass GTR's even built and laid the foundation for everything Australia is doing today however I will say Australians are most definitely pushing the boundaries & continuing to develop the platform & find more speed without sacrificing reliability all is matching color anodized billet

The R34 is rare in the USA....but every man and his dog owns an offtap bullshit fast R35 with 4 wheel bead locks just cruising around all day every day blowing away Lambos. It's only the chassis that's rare. B is for Build has done an R34 conversation fully converting the R35 GTR to an R34 GTR fully grafting all the body and metal work 😯 all the lines and proportions are 👌 perfect R34

The R35 is a piece of shi...t and ppl drag, why the R34 , the 34 is the best GTR! I don't like drag racing, but why not do it in the best version! Running in a straight line for me, only if you have at least 1km of acceleration, otherwise it's not fun, the R34 is amazing to play with corners on the track!
