JuJu Watkins was hailed as an ELITE basketball talent out of high school…

Everyone in the basketball community was buzzing about her, expecting her to dominate right away in her freshman year at USC. And it didn’t take long into her college career for fans and media to start wondering how good she will be by the time she’s WNBA draft eligible…
Her freshman year at USC was historic and has the chance to be the FACE of women’s college basketball for years to come considering she’s not even draft eligible until 2027….

She may score the most in her college career but not any quicker than Caitlin. She played 34 games her freshman year. Caitlin played 30 (Covid year). Right now, they’re pretty much scoring at the same pace per game. If she breaks all-time scoring record, it’s because she played more games. Juju tends to act like a ball hog too (I’m sorry😬). FGA 763 for Juju. CC only attempted 564 her freshman year. Juju only had 112 assists? But 140 TOs? I think she’s better than Paige, or she will be at some point. But CC will remain the only D1 player (men or women) to score 3000+ points, 900+ rebounds and 1000+ assists. Juju is definitely an elite scoring guard, maybe the best, but right now, she’s not a facilitator. And CC is the best PG there has probably ever been. Scores and assists. Two different roles. But if better players come to USC, does she start to score less? It will be interesting to see how she progresses. Maybe she learns to assist! But also, that’s probably not her role. She’ll be a 6’2” PF in the WNBA. Not a PG.
