There are many ways to deter guys from having a 3pt contest... 1) If every 10 attempts at 2 without a 3 pt attempt was to be automatically granted 4 pts, that would spice it up Or 2) if 10-15 2pt attempts in a row without a 3pt attempt put them in the bonus for the next 6 minutes...if 3 quarters in the game were "2 pt attempt - bonus time" then you automatically start the overtime in the bonus if it occurs...call it the "Mason Rule"...my idea sucka 😂 Or 3) If 40 straight 2 pt attempts without a 3pt attempt made, the players on the other team with the most 3pt attempts gain 1 penalty, either a tech or personal foul, opponents choice Or 4) 40 straight 3pt attempts meant the opponents all (or starters or starters + 1 guy) gained 1 foul each...presumably putting ppl in foul trouble to start the 3rd quarter...if 60 straight, then they're in the bonus for the rest of the game..."Mason Rule" It's thousands of ways to fix this & make it more like chess.
