Hi I had two questions about this DW272: 1- Can I use it as an impact driver with different tips? 2- is it possible to attach collated magazine attachment? thanks for time
@DIYApprentice5 жыл бұрын
It doesn't have an impact hammer, so i would not use it in that manner. I've only used it to install drywall and a subfloor. Someone can correct if I'm wrong, but my recollection is that there is no DeWalt collating attachment for this gun. Something like this Senco adapter may work instead with a Senco attachment: www.senco-emea.com/product/4563/adapter-dewalt-dw252-dw253dw255dw257-dw266-dw272-dw276 I hope that helps.

@@DIYApprentice thanks for the reply. I managed to get it unstuck by pulling out the adjuster collar, using vise grips on the plastic collar and then shoving a spoon through the slots and rotating it. They had it messed up from the factory but works good now.

What is different about the DW255?
@DIYApprentice4 жыл бұрын
Just looking at their specs: - Amps: DW272 - 6.3 Amps vs. DW255 - 6.0 Amps - Torque: DW272 - 81 in lbs vs DW255 - 60 in lbs - No-load RPM: DW272 - 4,000 RPM vs. DW255 - 5,300 RPM I couldn't tell if the black part of the housing on the DW255 is plastic or metal. The DW272's non-yellow portion is aluminum. Also, I noticed that the DW255 appears to have no black rubber at the rear of the housing - not sure if it would be less comfortable to use over time vs. the DW272. Hope this helps.
@johntempest2674 жыл бұрын
@@DIYApprentice Thanks. I guess you'd have to use both to have a preference. Perhaps the 272 is the better choice for hanging dry wall on metal studs.
@DIYApprentice4 жыл бұрын
@@johntempest267 One person, who I assume is a pro because he mentioned using screw guns 10 to 12 hours per day, said the DW255 is a good gun, but the difference in power is obvious when compared to the DW272.

Is there much difference between using driver with setter bit vs actual screwgun?
@DIYApprentice3 жыл бұрын
I haven't used the set bit, even though I have one. Screw guns are faster and possibly more accurate (not sure). Since they have a bit of learning curve, as a DIY'er, I would only buy a screw gun for large projects.

If your job is drywalling driver is very slow when it comes to setting screws even with any bit u choose but screwgun sets screws through drywall in the wood stud like better it drives like butter I mean

Hi can we use quickdrive extension with this gun please?
@DIYApprentice4 жыл бұрын
It appears that an adapter (DWAG2) is required to use the DW272 with Simpson's Quik Drive: www.strongtie.com/products/fastening-systems/technical-notes/quik-drive-adaptors Additionally, it looks like Senco's DuraSpin Auto-Feed attachment can be adapted using ADP009: www.senco-emea.com/product/4563/adapter-dewalt-dw252-dw253dw255dw257-dw266-dw272-dw276 The link is now in the description for the Quik Drive adapter. DIY apprentice, would this kind a tool be a no for taking out lug nuts off a wheel?
@DIYApprentice4 жыл бұрын
No, this tool is primarily used for installing drywall screws. I would use an impact wrench for lug nuts. A cordless impact driver like this one would work ok: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqKviqhun9p-aZY

Would also have been useful to see the range of depths that result from the range of depth settings on the tool.

Since the screw gun is primarily used to install drywall, in which case the screws are installed slightly countersunk, I'm not sure how beneficial that would have been to most viewers.

Its primary function is to drive drywall screws to a consistent depth. I've used it to install a subfloor, but that's about it. An impact driver or a drill/driver will work best for other work. Here's a review I made of the Porter Cable PCC647 impact driver. I use it frequently: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqKviqhun9p-aZY
