I’m nearly 80 years old, and I have never in my life seen game analysis better than this. I know the game fairly well, and I have eagerly looked forward to each new Fever post-game video. Caitlin Clark is truly something special, and we subscribers are very fortunate to have Awful Coaching show us just how great she really is. Thanks, coach, for all the great content - I’m already looking forward to next season. 👏👏👏👍

To the Indiana Fever, 2024 was truly a season to celebrate. Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston led the charge, with Clark’s electrifying debut putting the spotlight on the team, and Boston’s continued excellence proving the Fever’s future is strong. Alongside veteran Kelsey Mitchell, who consistently delivered high-scoring performances, the Fever showed grit and determination. Their relentless drive is building more than a team-they’re building a legacy. Congratulations on a season that laid the groundwork for greatness. The best is yet to come!

The Fever need a head coach who is a defensive genius, and who is willing to set his ego aside and hand the offense to Clark. They don't need someone to coach the offense. They already have the best offensive mind at point guard.
@outsidethegarden

100%. they need someone who realizes that CC IS the offensive coach. and they don't need a self-described "defensive coach" who doesn't know jack about defense, and is totally unable to coach her players to defend better.
@seekrengr751
@seekrengr751 Ай бұрын
Quite true, team defense, as Awful has pointed out so many times, is the Fever weakness. Even their best defender Lexi is caught out of position way too many times for it to be just a "blown assignment". It's terrible coaching that leaves the entire team looking lost on defense. One would think the Fever, having the smartest point guard in the league, would at LEAST have A/B teams with Caitlin and the bench against the rest of the starters during practices. That would be a start.

I have absolutely no problem with Caitlin Clark being outplayed, having a bad game or the Fever losing. But what the WNBA and a lot of the other teams, players and in particular the officials have done to the Fever and in particular Caitlin is just criminal and disgusting. Among many incidents she was lucky not to lose the sight in one eye. If I was her I would walk away now but she clearly lives and breathes basketball and competitive sport. So I would tell her to go play somewhere else other than the WNBA where she could thrive. But we all know she will be back next season in the WNBA. I would not bet against her once again, as this season, proving she is one of if not the best players they have and the only player that can maintain the support the league gained through her this season. I just hope she can avoid serious injury and harm in the process.

This is a great analysis. Two things. Clark might have been tired but she was only 3-12 from 3. If she can shoot 37-40% she can start carrying a team like Jordan did. Mitchell and the others, besides Boston, did not have a great game, which was needed to win. And the coach decided to use Clark as a decoy in the final minutes and put the game in Mitchell's hands, who made one of the worst turnovers in a critical situation I have ever seen. Talk about awful coaching.

Clark admitted that her first game was less than ideal. She was 4/17 from the field, and only 2/13 on three-point attempts. The second game looked better, but 3/12 on three-point attempts isn't "unbelievable." For the series, she was 14/40 from the field including 5/25 beyond the arc. The good news is that she had 17 assists and only five turnovers.

Never thought I would be sad to see the end of the WNBA season lol. It ended yesterday for probably the majority of WNBA viewers btw. In case people are confused, it ended yesterday. All of us CC fans who only watched the WNBA games she played in this year will be back next year and hopefully the league, the refs, and opposing players have moved past the CC hate by then and actually embrace the fact that she's brining in eyeballs and putting money in all their pockets that they've been complaining for so long were too empty. We'll see.

@@bigman7570 funny how they don't have as many fans. (oh, unless you think that's all about the color of the player's skin -- in which case, the answer is obvious.) and funny how they don't get double-teamed, or all the online hatred. I'm not saying you're wrong -- just, there's a reason no-one but you knows who these "quite a few" players are.

They have em, you may just not care to watch em. Lol, aja, or however you spell her name, doesn't really excite me like that. Really, any of those gigantic players don't move me. Lol But they have some crazy good players. The thing that I always shake my head at is the defense. Coach complains about it with the fever a lot, but I see the same defensive problems in every WNBA game I watch. Lol

@@outsidethegarden what does them not having as many fans have to do with anything?😂
@outsidethegarden
@outsidethegarden Ай бұрын
@@bigman7570 just trying to figure out what you mean by "quite a few who are above her level." obviously it's not about assists, or triple-doubles, or ROTY, or bringing in fans. or performance on the court while being double-teamed. so how ARE they "above her level"? you haven't said, and I haven't been able to figure it out. you want to make fun of my speculation? feel free -- just, the reason I'm speculating is because you haven't said anything, except to cast shade without any good reason. which maybe that's all you have. maybe you're just a hater. or maybe you're more about the double-doubles. (remember that debate? that was hilarious.) but yeah, ask me what my speculations have to do with anything. since you're not actually talking about anything yet.

I haven't watched an NBA game since Wilt the Stilt. Have never to this day watched a WNBA game. Loved watching all the Fever recaps and only started watching because of CC. Now I will get to go back to my normal routine until next time CC hits the court. Hoping, nay, praying this new head of the Fever will make some significant changes. But I will enjoy seeing how dramatically the attendance drops in the remaining playoff games. ESPN, the refs and the players are shooting themselves in the foot for their biased treatment of their $$$ maker. Irrational hate damages the whole league. They got her but they don't deserve her, IMOO Awful Coaching was awfully good at his commentary.
