Hootenanny Singers Darlin' 1964

So, if I'm understanding this correctly: - 'Darlin' (without a 'g'), this version, was released bij the group as a single in 1964, and is a traditional English language folk song. - 'Darling' (with a 'g'), released on their second album ('Hootenanny Singers', 1964*) is the same song, with Swedish lyrics by Cornelis Vreeswijk, and a musical arrangement by Bjorn Ulvaeus. - and in 1965, the English language version (now titled 'Darling') ended up as the B side of a single aimed at the UK market, with the English language version of 'Gabrielle' as the A side. The group was rechristened 'The Hooten Singers'. The reason I'm assuming that the 1964 single was in English, is that the only credit on the label is 'Ulvaeus'. 'Vreeswijk' is not mentioned, like on the back cover of the Swedish language album. To make this more confusing, the label on the UK single release credits 'Darling' to 'Ulvaneus - Vreeswijk', even though it's the English version. Can anybody confirm this? * To complicate things further, their first album, also from 1964, was also called 'Hootenanny Singers'. And in the US they were apparently called both 'The Northern Lights' AND 'The Hooten Singers'. Good grief.

Wow.. Sara that's funny crazy... where the hell you get that from?...and a million miles from People Need Love ...but I guess he had to start somewhere 💙💛👍...Crazy thing is....Benny was inspired by the Beach Boys ...not so sure about Bjorn...but in 1967 ...the Beach Boys had a big hit with a song called Darlin'.....maybe the Beach Boys were inspired by the Hootenanny Singers ? 😃
