This is what counts as a real review of a product. Thank you so much for the "update" - it changes everything. I have been studying and reviewing cordless vacuums for months now, and thankfully came across your 'update'. Basically, all reviews are for a new item, so this review is very helpful, and i am now persuaded to be open to a cordless vacuum. Still searching . Amazing, after only 7 months!

I just bought one on 4/23/2022 from Amazon. My purchased vacuum cleaner includes an extra battery. Its warranty (page 17 of the owner's guide) does not exclude battery failure within the 3-year warranty period. Have any commenters with a failed battery tried to get a battery replacement within its 3-year warranty period? It seems that Mr. Gizmo's failed battery - after only 7 months - could be replaced under its 3-year warranty.

I know I’m a bit late to the party but thought I’d put in my two cents. I bought the shark rocket pet pro cordless vac 3-4 years ago as it was cheaper than a dyson. Dysons runtime for their cheap cordless was 20 mins. Sharks runtime is up to 40 mins (less if turbo trigger is used). We have a smallish house with 2 floors. This shark till this day gives me a runtime of 35-40 mins which is plenty of time to clean the 2 floors. I don’t often use the turbo (trigger) as I’m happy with the normal suction it provides. Also went with a pet pro model due to removable and replaceable battery which can be charged on its own. The cost at the time in Canadian tire was $220 from $360. One downside was storage is awkward leans against the wall which is prone to falling. The sharks recharge time was about 1 to 1.5 hours fully charged. My original plan was to buy another battery if it ran out during cleaning, one sits on the charger while the other was used. But until this day the battery capacity is still sufficient. Forgot to add, I vacuum twice a week.

I’ve had one of these for over a year and mine is still good. I loved it so much that I also got one for work, which gets used heavily on a daily basis (I am the housekeeper at an assisted living facility) And so far still good!
@hermanmunster3358 Жыл бұрын
I dont believe you. You say you use one of these heavily at your work, in an assisted living facility, when you only get around 20-30 minutes battery life? How do you get anything done, when the battery takes 3 hours to charge, for 20 minutes of useage? do you wear a tool belt with 10 spare battery packs attached? Come on, who are you trying to fool? I bet you're really a sales rep for Hoover!

I've got the previous version of this Hoover cordless stick vac & had the same issue after just 6 months of light use. It's a garbage product & I'll NEVER buy anything by Hoover again and remain leery of ANY cordless vacuum or similar. The fact Hoover's battery fail rates are so high in their NEW products shows they haven't learned a lesson and bothered to fix an obvious serious issue. A $200 vacuum that quits in under a year unless you pay another $100 for a new faulty battery? C'mon! Your video just shows this is a company with low standards and doesn't care about he consumer. Should've gone for the corded Shark vac; my old one still going since 2007.

There's probably an internal program that has a recharge counter so that once you've recharged it a set number of times it quits working. There is a KZbin video showing how to reset the previous version LINX batteries. Maybe the process is similar. You might look at that and see it you can reset the counter.

If you’re vigilant about emptying every 15 minutes,and you avoid large or problematic debris,I say it’s a winner- easy to eject beater bar/very maneuverable head(although won’t go flat to floor ) Buy one? But best for light duty cleaning….

Question for you when you go to charge your battery are you making sure it's completely drained and cooled down before you put it onto the charger a lot of people make this mistake first of all you got to make sure the battery is completely drained once the battery is completely drained make sure the battery is completely cool before you place it onto the charger if you're placing a battery onto the charging device that as both not fully drained and still warm or hot it will destroy the life of that battery

I own the Hoover Blade Max for just over a year now. The vacuum is great but one of the two included batteries just failed on me. Red flashing charger light and the first and third LED on the battery illuminate. So I'm thinking it just a matter of time when the second one fails. It is nearly impossible to contact Hoover for a warranty claim. I emailed them to the two addresses they advertise but never heard back from them. I started a chat on their site but was disconnected and tried again but after waiting for 40 minutes someone replied. They eventually agreed and said the battery is defective and are sending a new one under warranty. Too much hassle with this company.

I have a vacuum that is a different model but uses the same battery. After doing a little research, I've found that these batteries are deliberately designed to fail after a specified amount of time/charges. Interestingly enough, the battery is not bad, but the circuitry in the battery is designed to make it not charge any more once you have charged it a set number of times. This is called "Planned Obsolescence". It is much like the Pinter/Ink racket. The company wants you to blow a lot of money replacing a battery that does not need to be replaced. I am working on trying to fix my battery as I am making this post, but since they are sealed, it might not be easy.
@jimmoore60332 жыл бұрын
From my reading of the OnePWR vacuum's 3-year warranty, battery failure is not excluded from its warranty. Have you pursued getting a replacement battery via its warranty?

I've had this exact issue with a 4 Ah pack (5x INR21700-40T cells). Vax supplied a new one for free and... Told me to safely dispose of the old one! How incredibly wasteful, given I disassembled the old pack and tested each cell - all fine. The BMS seems to not be resettable using methods which work for older models and I'm disgusted by this apparent planned obsolescence.

I had the same issue 1.5yrs after purchasing. Contacted Hoover customer support and they advised me to “check the sales”. Was gonna use the second battery that came with the unit till it died and then purchase a Shark, as my mom had a corded Shark vacuum that lasted 20 years. A month after the first battery broke, the second battery had the same issue. Because of the terrible customer service from Hoover, and the lack of durability of this product, I’ll never be purchasing another Hoover product. Also never purchasing another battery powered unit from any company.

Try a battery powered shark.... Not just any battery powered shark though, I suggest one that has something called "duoclean" and I promise you'll be happy. Granted you'll spend anywhere from $150-$400 for one, but all of the battery powered sharks that have duoclean are way worth the money (they even come with [90% of the models] a five year warranty) and they last forever. Most models even offer a second battery, but I'm always happy with just one for any of these models anyways. Battery powered vacuums used to be somewhat of a novelty, but in just the past couple of years they've improved with effectiveness and efficiency so much that they are no longer a novelty and are more of a useful tool at this point For the higher end brands at least... Shark is my number one for all of the above points.

Mr. Gizmo is right on. It's great vacuum cleaner design until it isn't. Buyer beware. I have had my vacuum less than a year ago and I use it maybe twice a month for a few minutes each time I use it. I bought two (2) batteries that I can rotate and BOTH of them are dying on me. Of course! It is a remarkable rip-off contraption. The Hoover designers were well aware of the battery power failings/dyings after a short amt of time had elapsed....and obviously the heads of Hoover Inc. gave the go-ahead to make + market this rip-off design. It's a form of fraud, isn't it.
