That bag! Much better after a bit of Dorian magic! Initially I thought the rust on the base plate was a shame, it looks tidy under the dirt. Then you said it was plastic and I became happier as that'll wash off a treat!

Beko1987 It certainly will look sooooo much better after a blooming good scrub and clean up. I will use my plastic polishing compound in it.

Millie is a gorgeous little dog,nice to see her introducing the video..My mother had an eighties hoover junior but that had brown front plate and creamy tan body and bag if memory serves me right. Other than that it looked very similar to the model you have. I certainly remember it having the traditional hoover growl when cleaning carpets and considering the power of the motor it was very good at grooming and deep cleaning carpet.

Its an October 1982 model Dorian. Not so keen on those Juniors, always prefered the 1346 / 1346A type of Junior, they were much cuter, lol

Goodmorning,It is just past 9:00am in US Illinois, I think Hoover made a mistake with using the flat belt-roller combo, the old round belt and grove seem to grip better judging by the polish on the brush roll. Since you have enough nice Hoovers, will the old style belt and and brush roll fit, Since I did not see the motor spindle does that need to be changed also. Might be a nice experimental video.

+Keith Millington I was actually thinking of putting an activator brushroll on it like the later ones. I must have a look and see if I have one in my parts bins. I'm off to Buffalo in November for thanksgiving, gonna search for some vac shops and thrift stores there

Hope you find what you looking for, but mods will be needed due to voltage differences. when I refurbish I use a product called softscrub uses less elbow grease and does a fair job on scuffs.

+Alex Dougherty Afternoon, from Ebay, luckily the listing was ending shortly and no one had bid on it, which was unusual, very pleased with the condition. After I made the vid I kinda realised it wasn't as late 80's as I'd thought. Bag is in perfect condition with just a was needed. The scratches and marks will come out a lot with some elbow grease.

HooverLux The hole in the plug is for ventilation if you use it for a while and unplug it the live and neutral pins may be uncomfortably hot to the touch also the fuses of the period could blow with a bit of a bang which generated heat which needed to be despersed hence the hole above the earth pin
