I think Marlon deserves a contract extension and we let B Steve go in the off season and develop the corners we have on the roster and get someone else in FA or the draft. Marlon has come back from previous injury riddled seasons and has made a major impact on the defense this year and is going to be crucial during playoff time

I think we could resign B Steve for cheap seeing the year he’s having. I don’t think he’s as bad as he’s played this year. Between this and last year I think he’s more the player from last year

Nonsense! They drafted and developed B Steve, no way they are letting him walk. He had an OUTSTANDING 2023, and his 2024 performance was not as good, meaning this is the perfect opportunity to extend/resign him for 3 more years at a discount. No way EDC passes on him.

Marlon said earlier in the season that he was trying to play like Roquon. I think that’s the best way to describe how he’s played in the secondary this year
@RobertBrown-b2hКүн бұрын
If you look years back Marlon has always been better in the nickle than as an outside corner. He's said himself hrs better on ball compared to an off ball outside corner. .. me orrs5 I loved it when they moved him to the slot. I don't comment much coach but a long time fan of the channel and much appreciate what you do . .
@user-f5xt2op9t8 сағат бұрын
You're correct! I believe he played in the slot much more in his first 2 years, but was really kind of forced to stick to outside corner once Jimmy Smith retired. Having Nate and B Steve/Dre White really gives them the flexibility to put Marlo back in the slot and I LOVE it! JUST Imagine if they had their "third" safety and could move Hamilton around again too! I think they need to focus on making that happen for 2025.

Hey coach, if my memory serves me right a lot of Marlon’s turnovers have been in the area you highlighted, to the right of the quarterback. Both picks in Tampa, his pick in the earlier Steelers game, and the pick in the bengals game all came on the right of the qb. Interesting stuff! Good work as always
@joshhoffman52332 күн бұрын
I’m wondering if we win either bengals game if we take away any big play. Especially on defense. Stops by the D weren’t exactly rolling in

I would liie to see them possibly sign b steve to a relatively low 2 yr deal while letting him and TJ tampa compete for that second outside spot...extended/restructure marlo and keep developing the rest of the secondary.

Ever since the legend of a fan leaned on Marlo when he was leaving the stadium, Marlo has been no less than first team all pro. He also would have a lot more credit for blitzes where he created pressure but there was a pi or nobody was there to finish the sack.

He physical, more so than any other CB I’ve watch in the past two seasons. He plays to make contact on every play and he’s pretty sound in technique. You would think his speed would have fell off by now but he still has decent legs. Theres something to be said about him getting hurt at times but I believe that comes with the territory of being a physical player so I don’t hold it against him

Yes. Absolutely, imo especially since no edge is running away with it.

At you 5:20 mark you talk about a play, when watching the game I really wondered about. I think that is not Humphrey's fault. I think that is the scheme. Ohr is new and in the "minimize that damage" mode. So he has coached his DBs and Saftey's to "keep the play infront of them." You can see it in a LOT of plays. I don't like it, but that is my take.
@all_22_filmsКүн бұрын
Entirely possible. No way to know, my only complaint or main complaint, was that the individual matchup was one where the TE just can't beat him deep. Would like to see him be more aggressive, but you could be right. They could be coaching a less aggressive style in some ways.

@@all_22_films*The FOX broadcast showed the Steelers Offensive #'s and/or %'s with and without WR #14 Pickens. Crazy stuff. And then Dan Orlovoski from ESPN said Pickens is the single most important player for any one offense in the NFL and argues that the WR #14 is as important to the Steelers as in TJ Watt. And I tend to agree b/c of how different the Steelers play without Pickens. Truth is that Pickens opens up the whole show. The TE Freiermuth can do his thing in the middle of field and vs LBs and is also hard to tackle. The 4.32 Memphis speedster Calvin Austin III, with 5 TDs and hits a HomeRun of 20+ yards 1 every 5 receptions. And then the run game with Najee & Warren are free to pound the rock vs light boxes*

@@all_22_films*Ravens lost 8 of 9 vs Steelers and was due for a Win in the NFL best rivalry. But if Russ does not fumble on the 4 yard line or throw the pick-6 exactly 2 plays after Minka gets the Lamar INT, does the Steelers win ?? One could argue down 24-17 in 4th Q and the Minka INT stole the momentum. One could argue that the score is 24-24 at that point if Russ does not cut inside and slides or just keeps running for the TD to go up 7-3. And this was all without the single most important player for any one team in WR #14 Pickens. And the Steelers were coming off the huge game vs Eagles. Not to mention Lamar vs Steelers Secondary with 3 of 4 starters out of game with injury*
