Beautiful machine. My last Hoover ...bought from K-Mart which had a unique # had a ...can you imagine?... a 10 foot cord, i.e. 3.048 meter cord, so I had to use an extension cord with it. So the cord length on this vacuum is very impressive indeed. The Hoover was deacquisioned quickly. Similar green which was SO popular back then. And so unpopular now.

I have one of these Hoovers, mines the one with the 1900 watt motor. it's a dark turquoise shade. I paid £20 for it in a charity shop, it's been excellent. I would love to know more about it, whoever owned it before me has looked after it really well. Not seen mine on youtube so far.

I have an older Hoover Encore bagged upright with the soft cloth outer bag. It works great, it needed some repairs when I got it, but it seems to work very well. Someone tried to use it without a bag, so the outer cloth bag was very nasty. I managed to find all the attachments for it so it now has the full attachment kit. I have a Hoover Rewind bagless vacuum that i really don't care much for due to having to clean out all the dang filters all the time on it. I'd rather have bagged vacuums. I also have a few of the Dirt Devil Hand Vacs as well. If I recall I did manage to find the adapters so I can use paper bags in the hand vacs to keep the cloth outer bags clean. They work great, and I have the attachment sets for them as well. The newer Dirt Devil hand vac that I have doesn't have a motorized brush, it is ran by suction from the vacuum, it doesn't work nearly as well as the older models did. I also found a Dirt Devil Swivel Stick Vacuum a while back as well that uses bags. It works great, the handle on it was broken when I got it, but I was easily able to fix that. I have an old 70's Rainbow Vacuum but most of the attachments for it are gone. I'd love to get a Kirby vacuum at some point one of the newer ones with Tech Drive, because as we know they're extremely heavy to push around LOL. My grandparents had a Kirby Classic 3 for many years, the motor finally died in it and it was thrown away....wish I knew about Kirby's rebuild program I would have sent it in for repair.

Serial number date code is the Candy style YYWW, in this case 9923, so its week 23 of 1999. This is about 2 years into Purepower's life, so not one of the super early 1997 ones which funnily enough didnt have the activator brushroll, but a rather flat cylindical shape with no beater pads, but it did have the rotating edge brushes that you talked about. I believe they closed down the UK factory in mid 2000's, probably around 2006 and shipped all production off to China, so your example there, being made in 1999, would be made in the UK plant.

will you be doing your Xmas videos? this year you can get the bagged black enigma upright new on ebay but i got one in the spring it, not the best if am honest, not powerful at all?
@jakemcintyre48204 жыл бұрын
If your planning to get an Enigma, I wouldn't wait much longer as like you said its been removed from hoovers website and argos have stopped selling them, so either they are waiting for more to be made for some new stock which seems unlikely or they have just discontinued it. The suction is a lot weaker on the 350w machine but it does surprisingly well, the suction is weak but adequate, the hose suction is the same as the hose suction on the Junior 1334 style of cleaners, and its stronger than the hose suction on the senior 652 series but we all know how poor that was, haha. My advice, get one quick! Also check out the new Jovis plus corded handheld as the updated version is miles better than the old version, it even has on board tool storage. Only two downsides is the filter clogs quicker as there is no wire mesh cage around it like on the previous model and the bristles on the turbo brush are softer, but apart from that its miles better. Keep safe.

OH Roger! I had a thought from the last video with the broken wheels. Have you looked into 3d printing? Looking around thingiverse.com (search "hoover wheels") to find some customizeable replacements. or if you know someone who can 3d model, have the original copied and printed, hardware store color match the paint, etc. Could be a backup way to have the wheels, tools, hose clips, etc.
