Great video especially when you use the Hoover jingle theme from the 90’s.

My grandmother always had her own little collection of Hoovers. She had three 80s convertibles, like the green one (one blue and one orange). I wish I would have taken one when she passed. She also had an OG wind tunnel and a celebrity.

I've actually seen a 1 hour video of a vintage 70s Hoover Convertible (model 728) on the official Hoover channel, that was actually filmed through a vintage TV, but uploaded in 2021, and the vacuum itself made ASMR noises for sleeping, relaxing, and of course, focusing, which a lot of viewers have seemed to actually like, in those terms! Even at that, the machine still ran like a dream, and does have a headlight, as well!

I saw your video on the Hoover tempo bagged vacuum. I bought it a couple months ago moving into a new apartment and it has what I need with no thrills. Just a great machine that is reliable

I recently purchased hoover convertible with a head light. It is U493 green and beige. I restored it and it looks near new conditions. Iam very happy with my first hoover to add to my collection.

Wow! You have a very nice collection of Hoovers!! Many of them in your collection I grew up with. My granny had a Convertible with a brown hood and brown rubber bumper. I can't think of the model off the top of my head, but she gave it to my mother around the mid 1990s. Before that, we had an Elite 200. My aunt had the green and white Concept 1 with the cord reel. My granny later found a Decade 80 and gave it to my older brother. He didn't fool with it much, so I took it. All of them were great, except I do remember the Decade 80 breaking belts a lot. It may have been a bad bunch of belts, but I do remember them breaking even when set correctly.

I had a restaurant in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s and one of the machines I tried using was a Decade 80 and it blew belts every week. It was as though they’d made it too powerful for its own design.

@@LlyleHunter So it wasn't just me, then? lol. I had that happen to me no matter how I had it adjusted. The belt wouldn't last long.

Can anybody tell me why uprights in the States are more popular than canisters? In Canada canisters are more popular thank upright. In the U.K. uprights are the much popular than canisters..

I have a Concept One, that I got for free. And it’s the exact same as your blue one that has the Power Drive but no light. I love it. I absolutely love it. It desperately needs some work and needs brush strips which I haven’t been able to find, though it does work. I also have a Self Propelled Windtunnel. I do quite like it even though it is bad, though I rarely use it. Also do you still have your Windtunnel Max bagged? I remember seeing your review on it. I bought that machine for my aunt and she still uses it.

my mom bought my grandmother, a gray one that had this removable vacuum cleaner on the front and you would unplug the actual vacuum and plug-in this little vacuum that sat on the front and also I remember it was like electronic or something. It had lights on it, and variable speeds around that time she bought a Hoover dimension 1000 also in gray that had lights and a variable speed she paid a lot of money for that one. It was around 86 I thought.

This is awesome, but I'm very curious how one gets into collecting vacuums. Do you actually like vacuuming and use them a lot? Or are they more of interest because they are machines and you aren't as interested in vacuuming per se? You said you usually use a central vacuum, so once these are repaired and restored, do you not use them often unless you're doing a tour like for this video, or do you rotate through and use them all?

I really like to vacuum and I enjoy all things mechanical. It's very similar to cars where you have a daily driver but then you pull out special ones for weekend driving.
@katietatey

@@PerformanceReviews I like that analogy. :) I have only a really great/ versatile daily driver, but I certainly can appreciate a sports car when I get to ride in one.

@@PerformanceReviews You actually meant to say "hear", rather than "here", because that means, like if you're telling someone to come over, you use the "re" form of this word, and if you're listening to music, or something, you use the "ar" form.

11:50 don’t talk shit about Kirby, they have a timeless and extremely reliable design. That’s what keeps them in business. They don’t need to change much on a machine, aside from the little updates they do from time to time, it’s essentially a perfect vacuum and stands the test of time. Most of them tend to outlive their owners due to the build quality

We had one as a kid I rather despised it but it might be fun to try and fit some sort of HEPA situation to one to make it less Dusty.
@LlyleHunter
@LlyleHunter Жыл бұрын
Since you mentioned Kirby, I wonder if they could use a modified version of the Royal attachment hose hookup since Royal has left the building. If they did that and shrank them back down to the size that they were up until the Sentronic models that were made until 1969 and had powerdrive they’d be pretty cool again. The way they are now they’re best suited to cleaning the astroturf in sport’s arenas.
