Can we stop calling remixes "edits"? This is a remix or a re-work. Not an edit.

Used only vocal, and a short part of strings from original. Different chords and harmony, new instruments recorded. Rework/edit, not remixed. If you are a professional music producer, you should know the definition of "mixing/re-mixing"

@@kcik_msic An edit is when you simply edit the song, such as extending and removing parts. If all you've used is the vocals and a short section of strings, it's definitely a remix. There are many classic songs where the remix includes more parts from the original song than what you have used.

@@waxmaster-c I think the word "remix" is mostly used when artists receive stems. Don't know if that is Kcik's case, but his/her (?) productions often include magnificent vocals always unveiled. More than focusing on how a song should be labeled, let's notice how the producer gave massive credits to the band for such track.

@@PopeGraas Yeah for sure. The terms are used interchangeable. In hip hop, a remix means changing the whole beat, in disco it's when you do a disco mix from the stems and in house it's both. I just feel that you underestimate your work if you call this an edit. It's much more than just an edit!
