That 2500 Cummins has a really good tune on it. And you can tell because it performs the way it does, putting out that power and torque without blowing massive amounts of black smoke out of it. That means it was tuned correctly.

excess black smoke has a benefit of reducing EGT's by running richer which can keep components from cracking/failing due to heat during peak power demands.

I would highly recommend taking the time to check the timing gear on the Cadillac they used a neoprene coated gear from the factory that becomes very brittle over time and will shatter WITH NO WARNING. If that happens the engine will bend multiple valves and scrap the engine. I know from experience. If you take care of that issue the 500 Cadillac is pretty bullet proof if you can afford the Gas.
@ryurc30332 жыл бұрын
100% facts. Gm used the neo gears on several makes in that era. I've seen them go bad within a couple hundred miles, if the car sat for a long time and somebody just started using it again. It seems like happens to quite a few pristine, low mileage, garage kept cars some people get lucky like me and it shears before it even starts.

My "suppport ticket" was open for weeks on end and the solution at the end was to cancel my subscription without my knowlege and without a refund for 12/13 months i'd been subcribed and charged. Being a diesel, 1 million isn't so much expected as optimistically anticipated. I'm happy for your miled up truck. I had a 94 Chevrolet S10 pick up truck in my twenties and practically lived in it. I'm sure my buddy and I put on at least 100,000 kms just driving around to skateparks together. I maintained it fairly well, always staying on top of the fluids. When I finally sold it to a friend who was building an S10 lowrider, it had clocked 552,000 kms. I got $160 for it and the interior got another life in a lowrider. That engine was amazing! 4.3 litre V6, automatic. The next year I believe came the vortec, and the simplicity was lost. The 94 was a delight to work on and I learned so much while I owned it. Ultimately the major problem cursing the truck in its later years was electrical issues caused by deteriorating trailer wiring to the hitch.

There's a regulatory system on the cp3 pump (high pressure pump mounted on the engine) I've had one fail on my 5.9, common issue that happens. It fails and tells the pump to put out no pressure and or it tells it to max out pressure which mine did causing it to sound like a knocking motor. Small sensor that causes the issue. Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-(
