As you plan to do the valve cover gasket, you may also want to invest some $ to change the "VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ADJUSTER SOLENOID" and/or the seals. Unlike Hondas where the vtec solenoid is completely hanging outside the engine block, 599 have them buried (2x per bank) under the valve cover. And each solenoid is connected to a sensor (outside valve cover) via a rubber wire, through a hole on valve cover. The seal is considered a weakness and will need to be addressed when leaking.

On the AC actuator, can you get to it by just removing the radio? Carlisle sells a special thin wrench, with some special features, which allows a skilled mechanic, such as the Car Wizard, to remove and replace AC actuators w/o taking out half the dash or the whole dash, only a radio or ash tray as an access point. Regarding the head gasket leak, on a cool engine, loosen the bolts holding the valve cover and gasket down, let them relax for 24 hours, then torque the existing valve cover and gasket back down, using the factory recommended tightening procedure and the precise factory torque values. Hoovie has nothing to lose by trying this.
@Russpeed3012 жыл бұрын
Yes as others say. Check refrigerant level. Also put a good scan tool on to check the actuators before pulling the dash. In high heat and pressure, I believe refrigerant may blow out through a relief valve un noticed then there is the thing with the fans.
@chappy21212 жыл бұрын
The prv will be in the engine bay somewhere, I would hazard a guess on the liquid line, that's if it has one, not all systems do. Usually depends on the amount of refrigerant in the system. It should have a HP switch on it that will stop it first.

The Wizard’s labor rates are fantastic… I could ship my car from Florida and still save money compared to the people I’ve used… His quotes on effort are honest too. I just did valve cover gaskets. 12 hours is spot on when you do it correctly.

I love Wizards shop. Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, some classics, and an old IH tractor in the background. They really do work on anything there!

Greetings from Romania ! I had the same porblem with the A/C Climate , I don't have Bi-Zonal Climate , but had the same problem It was from a leak of AC gas , when it didn't have the 550grams and got to around 250grams , it started just to cool only the passenger side (the side closer to the condenser) . It had a leak on the copressor/AC pump , and it was bad also , instead of 10Bar , it got only about up to 2.5Bar . My advice is to check for all the leaks on the A/C system. Sorry for the bad english .

"2 or 300 dollars each, not that bad" for probably around the same quality and type of part found in any car that usually goes for...~25-80 bucks (which at the higher side is too expensive for what it is when I can get MUCH more complicated electronic circuits for a fraction). Reminds me of Jag coils that were modified just enough from Ford ones, so you had to pay the small fortune for them over just buying a set of Ford ones for a fraction of the cost.

Never knew Wizard's voice could go up that many octaves; 'course, hearing that V12 while experiencing a mobile chiropractic session would get *my* voice all Maria Callas too.
