Okay. But what about those of us who have it as Autoimmune? I could literally be sitting in a chair, with no other external factors and I'll break out in hives and rashes and it feels like a chemical burn (also itchy but we get it). My allergist said mine was INTERNAL. But the only information I can find on any of this, is how to control the external factors. OKAY GREAT. BUT, mine is internal and not external. Of course stress, anxiety, trauma, excessive amount of heat, fast food can contribute to it but my cells produce the histamine thus reacting and causing the hives. After the testing, it was concluded that it IS NOT EXTERNAL TRIGGERS OR FACTORS. Maybe I'm one of the select few who have it as autoimmune, I just wish it was discussed more as I have little to no information on how to treat it if it has nothing to do with external factors.

Hi there, I’m kind of glad that I’m not the only one in this world on this. My allergist in France even said that I just have to live with it. I used CETIRIZINE for over 20 years now n still on it but I cut it (the pill) in half since last year and it works just fine. Now my hope is just for miracle, maybe one day I can be free from this. Good luck to you, we’re on this together :)

I’ve had this for 2 years now and met 7 different doctors. No one could help me so I dived into medical literature and found it. Everything this specialist is talking about is true. First antihistamine (none sedative) and if that doesn’t work then xolair. He calls xolair something else but that’s because he doesn’t want to advertise.

Very weird for me. The cold in the winter outdoor does not effect me. Also, during day time in the same room no hives occured but started from the evening all night got itchy rash but disappear during the day. Keep happening since I move in this place for 4 months. I just came down with hives for the first time in my life (I'm 72). I have experienced an allergic reaction to Cephalexin, an antibiotic. I took it for a week and a half. I ended up in the hospital with a resting pulse of 150 and an O2 level of 70. They had to stop my heart and restart. Now pretty much is all good except for the hives. Benadryl has been a life saver.

Hi Michelle, it's now been 9 months since you left your comment here. I have sympathy and empathy for you because it has just now happened to me too. I wonder how are you doing now? Were you able to get some relief? Like you, I abhor waking up early and not being able to get back to sleep. I started taking antihistamines before bed. It helps me to sleep, but I also, still wake up to more red, itchy bumps. I give antihistamines another week, then I will seek out a doctor for help. My best wishes for you.
