Sometimes I wonder if these beautiful people are simply too good for this world. It is great to see them not give up and to fight, educate themselves and work to preserve their communities. Hopefully, native peoples around the world, who have a unique perspective, will help all of humanity come back to its senses and reject the ugly corporatism, consumerism, waste and selfishness. It would behoove us to respect them and to listen to their wisdom.

I just went to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Native American Reservation in Northern Nevada. Driving through a little town on the "rez" called Wadsworth broke my fuckin' heart. It was very run down and poor. I immediately felt anger and pain for my Native people. But i know for a fact, we will rise above all the oppression and depression. Arapaho's, Apache's, Paiute's and all other Natives stand tall.. no more living in fear. Live for yourself and live free!

Yes, but there is more. The drug abuse and hopelessness is directly connected to the fact that folks there lack a sense of purpose. Purpose is the fruit of life. Our unique genius is the seed of that fruit and it is encased by what we care about the most. So education can shine a light on purpose but the sense of purpose is the driving factor.

@nialloneill5097

@@tntruther And so the genius of education is when it coincides with our sense of purpose, and therefore there is a need to stimulate this through experiences that can awaken the spirit, for we were all spirit seeds once upon a time. And the earth and the university of life are meant to proffer us the right experiences, so as to develop and mature us, so we can recognise the laws of nature, which are at the same time the laws of the Great Spirit. Then, one day, we may return to our one true home in the blessed and happy hunting grounds of Paradise.
@timothyappleseed2986
@timothyappleseed2986 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the synergy of applying our talents and interests to the things we care about is the seed of purpose and purpose is the fruit of life but the path to the tree of life is obscured by the masks we wear seeking validation and or approval from others. Purpose is the fruit of life and community is the soil that we plant our purpose in. The Garden is where we cultivate our trees together. In the Garden we GET to work. Outside the Garden we MUST. Heaven and hell are states of consciousness. The door between heaven and hell is marked contempt on one side and contentment on the other and hinges on swallowing our pride.
@nialloneill5097
@nialloneill5097 3 жыл бұрын
@@timothyappleseed2986 I see purpose as the main driving force for our intentions, as it comes from the depths of our spirits, which if we allow them to speak, constantly cry out in the longing for God, and a peaceful and beautiful world. Therefore upbuilding and beautifying ourselves and community is vital to its purpose, which leads to the fruits of our efforts, where these conditions should prevail upon the earth, until finally all of us can ascend to the place of our origin, Paradise, and eternal life, free from the worlds of rebirth and dissolution, which are part of nature's cycles and linked to the Will of the Creator, the Great Spirit. Thus, the earth and the immediate beyond, where we reside between lives, in the Wheel of Reincarnation, are the real gardens, where we sow our seeds of either good (that which coincides with the laws of creation), or not so good (that which is man's self-will and stand outside the laws of creation, or nature). If man does good, he reaps blessings, but if he takes other paths, then karmic storms must one day come his way, to awaken him again to what is good, for he has thereby become a poor steward of the garden of life, that sits around the Tree of Life, around which many branches exist that contain many planes of existence, all with different densities and different distances from the original Light Source, where stands the Temple of God... and the place from which pours out the Divine Will... into Creation, to sustain and renew us. Amen!

Natives were never about owning the land or greed it was for taking care of using only what you needed to live efficiently,happily in harmony ,and teaching the next generation that followed. We are about taking care of mother earth, and being worthy of the creator's trust with his creations .Man has poisoned this world with greed, and reckless actions. The day will come soon when man will have to answer, and accept his fate the creator knows who is not worthy of the next transition.

I have been listening and watching many native american videos; I am part Choctaw, but don't have the features. I am a retired military veteran and a combat veteran as well. I think if people experienced war, death and combat in other countries that we were trying to help and protect; if would bring about a different view of the United States. It was a big mistake to abandon the Afghan people; I am so worried about my interpreters and Afghan military men I worked with. Absolutely unacceptable for us to leave these people like this. I really have a lot of respect and admiration for women like Rose and Misty. They overcame their circumstances; they studied and worked hard to get ahead and excelled for their community. I don't see this in other reservation communities--I see a lot of them blaming their problems on the US government, and don't try to learn and achieve something on their own. I would like to know why the reservations are not getting funding for schools and programs to learn vocational skills. I am going to get in touch with Governor Kristi Noem's office and ask about this concerning the Pine Ridge reservation. A lot of bad things happened to the american indians, and a lot of bad things happened to the settlers. The current state of affairs with the US government and the native americans must change. It is very obscene to me to see illegal immigrants pour across our borders and be handed money, food, housing and medical attention; while letting our native americans languish and suffer in these kind of conditions. I would like to see how the ladies like Rose and Misty are doing now since 2007 when this video was made. God Bless you American Indian College Fund and God Bless the Native American people!! :-)

In my culture, my uncle was a shaman and he say, " Remember this son, do not let you and your people become orphans. Remember who you are and where you come from. Remember to keep your father and great grandfathers name, so that you don't become orphans. Call to your ancestor for help and wisdom. Do not forget them too. Keep your custom and instrument, do not throw them away. Do this and you will never be lost my child." He die at age 80 of lung disease.

They lived in connection with the Earth, and had great knowledge of the land that sustained their populations sufficiently for eons. Unlike the Euros of the time who were killing each other over how to interpret a 4,000 year old book, scarcely bathed because the big spirit saw it as a sin, and had laughable medical practices, NA's were superior in agriculture, medicine (they had aspirin and antibiotics), and knew the connection between hygiene and health. It depends how you interpret civilized.

So keep bringing life into a dying evil war torn planet. Hope it all works out for you. People are in for a rude awakening when the system collapses and there is no more government assistance. Dependence on a failing system spells doom for most of us. Hope is only good when you accept reality. Major depression is already here, so don't get your hopes too high.

my dad...a WWI draftee made it to 3rd grade. My mother, much younger made it to 8th grade as Richard here. I am the first of my family to get bachelors, mine in community development. What came to be is now my youngest 2 children have surpassed that small milestone.My kids were mentally stronger than I, one, the son taking from Minnesota a M.D., and my daughter a masters from Nebraska/Lincoln. It is most satisfying. I, attended the university/Michigan in ann arbor. I was not ready, nor was I prepared by the public school system of my era. Dark skin is not a positive. And even with a degree, my own tribe hired a non member white woman for position I wanted. Even the skilled set-aside are given to the mixed bloods...the mixed bloods with their wavy blonde hair, and partial tans from a booth. Maybe we have come a long way but do not stay on the rez. it will be many years from now when opportunities arise there. it is permitted to relocate in spite of trump and the white sheet wearers. be stronger than me.

It is the FORCES OF DARKNESS YOU SPEAK OF !!! White man speak with forked tongue, and bring his ways to Turtle Island. Then, he desecrate her beauty, and destroy her people's ways, so now they feel sorry for themselves and drink too much. So I pray for my people... Great Spirit, Maker of our lives, my prayer comes to you, swift and true, like an arrow unto the sun, and sky of blue. Welcome it, for my people daily die of thirst of hunger, for many have forgotten thee in their deep sorrow, and live as though there is no tomorrow. May their hearts abound again with the strength of the mighty bison, and their eyes tell of the sun that shines eternal, as they gaze across the sacred lands of the prairies and welcome in their arms and bosoms the breath of the north wind, when Mother Earth whispers her sacred rites of passage to places far off, when in vision quest she casts her furs around our naked souls, which have been stripped of all dignity, of our lands, and our cultures. Yea, I come to thee woman of enchanting beauty, I proffer everything I own to thy service, and to the Great Spirit, so that my people may come to know of that which they need once more. So grant my people the wisdom to recognise thy ways, oh mighty Spirit in the Sky, so that they may come to know of truth, strength, honour, peace and courage once more. And for this I humbly thank thee Father, Amen !!!

If the youngs ones just realized, everyone wants to be America's First Peoples. The conditions you all are forced to live is unprecedented and a national tragedy.

“Men working in fields were arrested and driven into stockades. Women were dragged from their homes by soldiers whose language they didn't understand. Children were separated from their parents and driven into stockades with the sky for a blanket and the earth for a pillow. The old and infirm were prodded with bayonets to hasten them to the stockades. In one home, a sad faced little child had died." -Soldier John G Burnett An account of NA's driven from lands, as you put, they did not have.

2- an observation: i would take a safe guess and say youre pan-native community is at the point where the catholic Irish community was in 1847. you have reached political and social ascendancy, and a great educational and entrepenurial level.. the next step is a hard struggle for independance as soveriegn peoples. i know one faction agrees. the other faction may stay American i guess. its up to them.
