Hope, in her own words, on working with Scottish guitar master, Bert Jansch, (whose guitar you hear on this song): QUOTE: "When he came out ...to record with us,it was unbelievable to be in the same room with him.I mean, he's a genius. It was very emotional for me.After the sessions,I sat in my hotel room listening to the recordings and crying."

Hope has given me so much hope throughout the years. I feel like I can feel free to just be my true self and show my true essence. No social pressures to impress, just love and understanding for all living beings and myself.

I love Hope Sandoval and Mazzy Star. Been listening to her music obsessively since I was a teenager. Her voice still moves me to tears. This is my favourite song off BFB. If you like this song, I would recommend Sober Moon by Ali Murray. So sad and dreamy and beautiful and atmospheric. I wish Hope would hurry up and release another album!

It should be noted Bert Jansch plays guitar on this song. He also plays on Butterfly Mornings" from the same album "Bavarian Fruit Bread".I'm sure Bert wrote the guitar parts while Hope wrote lyrics & melody. So those two songs are really Hope/Jansch collaborations, the Warm Inventions being rather irrelevant to them.A 3rd Hope/Jansch collab made it onto Bert's '02 album "Edge of a Dream". The song's "All That Remains".It's my fave of the 3 showing off both Bert & Hope at their best.Haunting!

If you know the full story of what took place at that show you'd know that whooooole account is out of context. She says "I don't want you to love me, I just want you to shut the fuck up" and people actually cheered her comment given what had been taking place. Go to her official website and read some of the accounts of this show--Boston, 2002 tour. Even after putting up w/hecklers at that show she still met w/fans afterwards. 100% class. I hope that on the '09 tour it goes better for her.

43 will come and knock my door someday. its afternoon for her and the light is -soft, warm and sweetlly tired i know. 43 will come to me bringing the scent along and the lone tree on the horizone will lay on my feets. I am so helpless, I'll keep it carry on. the warm, soft feelings to the last door, and hold it tight even the lights gone...

@ISayNukem Indeed. In my world, she may possibly be the most beautiful human on the planet. It's hard to stop looking at her and wondering who she really is in real life. She's apparently much like me: quiet, reticent, withdrawn and dreamy, just like her voice and her lyrics. Who is the girl in this beautiful woman's body?

"I once saw someone try this at a Mazzy Star concert to ill effect. Just as the icy Hope Sandoval -- a woman who has instilled great fear in not a few journalists -- was about to sing the first note of Among My Swan's "Rhymes of an Hour," a woman in the audience yelled out, "We love you, Hope!" Sandoval, in perhaps her only documented public display of emotion ever, shouted back, "Shut the fuck up!"" I just read this about her. Regardless, she ahs a pretty voice.
