Winter is almost here, and we keep finding homeless animals in need of medical care. Every month we provide these animals with everything they need so they can be healthy again and then find their loving forever homes. As you probably know, veterinary care costs a lot of money, and we really hope that you can join us today and contribute to our Medical Fund. On this rescue, JoAnn Wiltz and Alex Babcock were called to save a family of kittens who were abandoned by their mom. It is possible she abandoned them because they were sick and she just couldn't help them 😿😿😿😿

Wow. JoAnn is a better woman than I am...reaching in and grabbing that scared kitten with NO gloves. We rescue cats in our area. We live in the mountains, in the woods and people dump cats out here all the time. Shelters and the recues can not handle all of them. We currently have 11. I have made a huge mistake of reaching for a terrified kitten, it bit into the end of my finger and would not let go. I had to go to my doc for antibiotics and a stitch. Kitten teeth are like razors. I an still recovering from pulling a sick cat out from underneath where it was hiding, she was tame, but in pain, and I was bitten 8 times, and the last time she my daughter had to help pry her off me. BUT, even with that...I would do it all again, BUT I now have a huge supply of gloves.. I know it is harder to get a good hold on them, but better to be safe. I applaud what you guys do. I watch you videos, learning what to do and not do to help animals in my area. We rescue on our own, not a part of any non profit. We just can not stand to see a kitty hungry, cold or sick. I once found a kitten in my cousins room, and I kid you not he was super friendly 😭 I picked him up and he didn't try to claw me or anything and let me pet him, unfortunately I was in Mexico at the time and lived with my grandma and she hates cats and my cousin doesn't like animals in general

Some neighborhood cats that grow up on the street do end up being friendly, if they have only good experiences with nearby humans. My neighborhood growing up had a handful of solitary strays, & two or three of them were super super sweet.

Before we jump to any conclusions about the mom “didn’t care,” remember the world is as fraught with peril for a grown cat as well as for a kitten.a cat is not like some humans who will abandon their children if it becomes too difficult to take of them. Animals don’t think that way. They will always try to take care of their babies unless something extraordinary happens and they can’t. The mother of these babies could have died in numerous ways, living out on the streets. And I’ll bet her concern right to the end was getting back to her kittens.

I agree! A cat would never "abandon" her children!! I'm sure HFP knows but made a little mistake! Only human beings are able to abandon animals or even their own babies sometimes, but I never heard from animals to do this!!

I love how Ringo just wandered in to get himself rescued. I also want to thank you for all your videos and the information you've passed on in them. It gave me the knowledge and confidence when I rescued some cats. There aren't many strays where I live and I previously would have thought they were owned and simply wandering. From watching your videos I recognized that they needed help and was able to slowly gain their trust. I doubt that I could have achieved that without your videos. Thank you.

Wher I used to live, I had two cats come to my place regularly, meowing and hungry. I found out months later they werent stray at all, just a neighbour's cats who had worked out how to get two dinners every day ! Hats off for their initiative I say

So sad the fifth kitten didn’t make it but thankful that you always still care and make final arrangements for the ones who don’t survive. This is another example of the importance of spay/neuter to reduce the suffering of kittens born into bad conditions.

I have 10 cats myself (feeding more) and I know how expensive it is.... In August I rescued 3 little girls from the shelter - I just had them neutered..... they are all neutered, dewormed and vaccinated.... so I really know! Thank you for what you are doing!!!!

The two little kittens at the beginning looked like they wouldn't have lasted another day or two. I doubt that their poor mama deserted them. Something probably happened to her. So happy they found the other two kittens. And I'm especially happy that Ringo just happened to be there and was rescued as well. He looks like he's been through the ringer, and yet he's so sweet! Even when they bathed him, he just meowed in protest...he didn't bite or claw. If I lived anywhere near L.A., I would apply to adopt him in a heartbeat. I'm near Vancouver, BC...a little too far away! I hope they all find loving, caring homes.

You have a couple of good rescuers in Turkey that are also on KZbin. Takis and I think the other one is Dev or Rav Dev or something similar. They do wonderful work but getting more people willing to adopt a stray is a challenge.

Must have been having a senior moment: the rescue in Turkey is called dev naz. Actually from Australia but I think has Turkish heritage & lives there now.

I also think they are not so many people in Turkey who rescue dogs and cats. I only know "Haytep", they try to inform the people that spaying/neutering is pretty important and collect some money for their campaigns. And also single persons like " waltersanti" who is an angel for cats!! I have been in Istanbul, there some people feed them, but mostly with human food which is left and not healthy for them. They think the cats and dogs in the streets have a good life but they don't have. You see a lot of them only bones!! The government feed some cats in a famous park, but I guess this is only for tourists picking up some fotos! 😢 Once I took an injured cat to a vet but he didn't want to treat her even when I wanted to pay for it. "It's God's will" he said 😢. Anyway I'm sure there are also other vets...

Thank you for save them. They are so cute. The 2 orange cats remembers me my little one who was stolen in May 2021 😢. But I've lost my female cat who has stolen too in October 2021😭😭. We think there is a traffic of animals in our town because 1 cat desapeare all days since one year maybe, but nothing is doing for find them😠. Sorry if I made mistakes 😏. I watched the news some time ago about a village where over 20 cats got lost! And no big street around... The village people think they got catched and their fur were solved 😱. So please watch out for your cats in your area!!

@@calimero600 thank you for your answer but I want you to also understand that every day at least 1 cat disappeared in our commune and it lasted for about 7 months 😥 !! it is not trivial to see on Facebook (help group on our commune), photos of cats missing every day 😡 !! 20 cats is already important but when it exceeds 2 hundred it is no longer normal and worrying 😱! I miss them and I still have the hope a little silly to see them come back 🤞😊! A+ 😋

I disagree with the title, cats don't usually abandon their babies without good reason. Could have been a million reasons why she didn't come back for her babies, attacked by dog or dogs, hit by a car, was sick, we DON'T know. So I *RESENT* the assumption of her abandoning her babies 😡😡😡 Otherwise good job rescuing the adult and babies
