People need to stop yelling abuse because they cried. This is NOT abuse. These dogs are scared because they didn't know if they could trust the humans and have never had collars around their neck before, so this must really be some kind of new sensation to them! They're not crying because they're in pain. They're crying because they're scared. When watching this my own rescued dog immediately went to my phone to help the pups. Can't you see what's being done? He crawls into a narrow space that anytime could crash onto him to save those puppies. Now they can get medical care, food and a safe place to sleep. This is NOT abuse. Look how calm they get when they understand the humans are nice. The pups were just scared. I got anxiety just watching him crawl in there he could get stuck. He could die. And he did it with a kind heart for those puppies. Man. I would be so sad if abuse were being thrown at my face after saving small doggies.

I've had puppies scream like that when I walked near them. They are skittish creatures. When you pick one up for the first time they tend to do that even if you're careful. What they did was perfectly fine. They came out unharmed and even safer then before.

The Male rescuer was brave but he was also stupid. That soil was rotten and could have collapsed at any time. The puppies should have been tempted out and then a fence dropped behind them but whoever noted quickly and snatched the second puppy spooked the rest. Patience would have made it a lot safer. They also could have called for the fire brigade like when my cat get a string around his neck connects to an aluminium remote control that I usually hung round my neck during the day as the remote was heavy (was the remote that controlled my home automation as I’m disabled). I woke up one morning to a loud clattering in the cat flap followed by a doing doing doing getting quieter and quieter as my cat ran down the path with the remote bouncing along behind him. He ended up going into the drainage tunnels near me and I couldn’t reach him so I called the RSPCA (when I had managed to get up and get dressed. Was 7am and I was in bed when it happened) and the RSPCA guy came out, took one look and called the fire brigade. I had this horrible feeling my cat was getting strangled by the neck string my cat had obviously been playing with and he’d wrapped it round his neck. Anyway the Brigade searched and one opened up a manhole and reached in saying “I thing your cat is probably okay” he said gingerly lifting the remote string...this was because the remote was there but not the cat. Oh and the remote was covered in loads of cat crap so the poor thing must have been terrified. Anyway that evening I heard the cat flap open gently and my cat slunk in, looking really guilty... but a good cuddle later everything was okay again and he was back to being boisterous. Anyway, props to the rescue team but they really should think more safety first. If the roof had come down it would have probably been another funeral and for the pups as well. Oh and moving slowly is better than grabbing fast.

To be fair, puppies in loving homes scream like that at the vets when they get their injections, or if mom stands on them etc They just cry at the drop of a hat.
