@@irembal6011 False TBH. You can look at any of the official art and see that the eyes are just as far apart as the standard kamichama karin art. The eye drift is there in some of the media too, it was just a different time on the internet, awareness of singular frames of animation was lower and anime was still novel. Plus digicharat was beloved along with other comedy/slice of life anime which were huge at the time, unlike romance which is typically looked down on, so it didn't get memed the way karin did. But it was there.

Kamichama karin was actually my very first anime! So I was long acquainted with the show before the memes. I love it even now, though it definitely.. doesn't really hold up in some areas. For what it is, I think it has its charm, and I personally love the characters and some of the darker themes of the show. It has that specific early 2000s type of anime humor too, which you'll either love or hate.

Koge-Donbo's art style is iconic 2000's aesthetic in cute anime scene. Digi Charat was basically a comedy anime shorts about Dejiko wanting to be an idol and her rival Rabi-en-rose doing weird stuff. It was quite popular and had a lot of media from it. I remember it being quite meme'd on in northern europe anime communities, like a Finnish fandub/abridged series on KZbin.

In defense of time travel love triangles- Instead of trying to set up a love triangle when we know the outcome, it could add a nice layer of grief and heartache. With Seiya and Usagi, for example, how much more tragic would it have been if they both knew their relationship had an expiration date, but loved each other anyways? Each date and embrace is tainted by the knowledge of what the future holds. Usagi is reminded everytime she looks at her own daughter. Doomed by the narrative, seen more as an impossible romance instead of a love triangle

It's kinda ashamed that Kamichama is the only known anime that is full of and alway's filled to the complete brim with meme's and not her in the anime me myself included.And even though it's not the ugliest nor even the most non perfect magical girl anime it's the most underrated anime ever but the animation on this anime looks pretty good and amazing at best except for the horrendous face good grief that horrendous face it looks hideous and the most disturbing yet disgusting face in the history of anime history,I've felt so bad cause I've kinda like the art style and the background's of the anime in particular and also the story it's just so very dark and deeply much edgy in my opinion this anime and the sequel manga looks amazingly underrated and it's the most non perfect yet amazing hidden gem since Cute High Earth Defense Club Love! and also by the way I've absolutely love your video so much thank you so much for tackling this underrated gem/hidden gem I've very much appreciated and plus it's one of my all time favorite video's that I've ever seen sailor gaurdian hope your videos are wonderfully sublime and very superb I've going to tip my hat to ya with grander deeply respect so as always keep it up the fantastic work bc you are the best.

honestly i think the weird proportion was the anmation studio's fault,, Koge-donbo's art style is so cool, her drawings are all so cute and none of them seems weird at all. Kamichama karin has always been my favorite! I had to watch it three times and read kamichama karin chu to fully understand the whole thing but i think it was worth it! It has a special place in my heart. I was a 10 year old girl in the suburbs of Houston, Texas when I saw my classmate looking at the Kamichama Karin manga at the annual school book fair. I had never seen anything like it, and thought it was so cool-looking that I ended up buying the 7th volume and reading it first (so it took me a bit to understand the story). I fell in love with the magical style, I traced and practiced drawing the characters, it became my first anime too, and here I am over a decade later, still into manga and anime and having met friends because of it. I was so disheartened when I found out like 5 years ago that people know Kamichama Karin, but only for that meme, although it is pretty funny looking. I never ended up watching this anime despite enjoying the manga. I totally forgot that it's theme song sounded like that lol. It doesn't suit the show at all, but I feel like that was the trend at the time, for a few years any anime that was meant to have "dark themes" would have a theme song with that hyper, rapid pitch shifting style of vocals. It was supposed to sound creepy and was associated with anime goths for a bit lol. Such a weird choice though. Also it's nice that you showed some of the manga, I feel like koge donbos artstyle fits much nicer in her art, because her linework and shading pulls the page together so well that you don't really notice any weirdness with the porportions, it feels natural. didn't translate as well to anime, sadly.

Not me immediately aging 40 years at Di Gi Charat being unrecognizable nowadays, back in the early 00s it was THE mascot anime. It was created as a tie-in for a chain of game stores but gained a bit of a cult following after a few OVAs and a shortlived anime were produced. Used to be very popular with AMV creators (look up Doki Doki Productions - The Game) alongside stuff like Azumanga Daioh and of course, DBZ, Eva and Vampire Hunter D. I still have a doll of the panda girl mascot around here somewhere...

I only read the manga and I adored it. It was such a cute quirky series. Never read the sequel series even though I wanted to lol Also it’s great how Koge-Donbo doesn’t take the series too seriously, with some gags getting drawn in the corner. Man what a walk through memory lane… Although I still can’t get over how Koge-Donbo draws feet. Some scenes in Pita-Ten were hard to take seriously when the feet look so… off.

I've been a massive fan of Koge Donbo's work for about 20 years now and I remember falling in love with Pita-Ten as a kid, then being so enthralled with Kamichama Karin. It had such a dark, dramatic story with BEAUTIFUL art in the manga, but nobody will give the series a chance because the anime is such a disaster. Thank you for shedding some light on one of my favorite and most underrated mangakas ever. Koge Donbo's artwork was so influential to me and it sadly just doesn't translate to anime that well. Now that animation has greatly advanced, I'd love to see a studio try once more to take on this series or Pita-Ten (which ARE canonically set in the same universe, by the way).

It's my favorite. The story can be confusing because of the way it's told. I'm actually tricked if someone asks me what this anime is about. 🤣🤣🤣 But it's fun and all, just like the other mahou shoujo, but this one has a special place in my heart. The op is good for me. The ending is sweet. But the development is really messed up. I even try to read the manga, but everything looks so dramatic.. But it's still fun sometimes. Give it a chance. X3
