Mugabe and his team weren't really embarking on a violent & chaotic to truely resolve one of the basic grievances of colonialism BUT to get back & at the predominantly white commercial farmers who had supported the NO vote in the constitutional referendum of the year 2000 . Why we say so , the Mugabe gvt started redistributing land from the early 1980 and resettled landless black people in what were called 'Mindamirefu' and this was done peacefully & orderly and a lot of black people benefited .Why then would the same gvt 20 years later abandon the same program & embark on a ruthless , chaotic & lawless program ..the answer is simple.. maintain state power & influence at whatever cost.
@MrKingsleyK2 жыл бұрын
I would suggest that you read on the Lancaster agreement. It stated that the British would give the Zimbabwean gouvernement to pay the white farmers for the land at a market price. The British refused to honour its side of the deal but the government did not and do proceeded to take possession of the land. The sanctions that followed after are what destroyed the economic and social security of countryman. Today we the same countries applying sanctions on stronger countries and its affecting the world population and inflation and prices are rising. Simple minded people are still blaming the president of stealing money. Sanctions affect the poor the most so as to uprise

@mandiwasimbarasche2 жыл бұрын
Bro, Im sick of Zanu pf as much as the next man but its wrong to spew ignorant negative information about land reform. Nothing wrong with land reform. Zims problems were caused by both Mugabe and Blair. Blair reneged out of terms of lancaster house agreement related to land reform. Then Europe punished Zim for taking back the farms to discourage other neighboring countries from doing the same. Thats why any talk of land reform in the world you Hear Zimbabwe. That was the intention.

Good speech. South African is paying for Zimabawean state failures and collapse... we getting the brunt of it... we have more than 10mil Zimabawean economic migrants. More than 70% illegally in RSA, yet they've had independence 14yrs before RSA. Most of them brag about thier intellect n education yet they cant go home to build their own country. It's shocking how entitled they are in RSA n even as far advocating how RSA shud be governed
