Nah, this full body armor suit is not from the 5th century era that you mentioned. Its archaic, meaning 7th-6th century. There is only one surviving example to my knowledge, found in ancient olympia. Also, the corinthian helmet seen here is much later example, the archaic one was more like this stefanosskarmintzos.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/the-early-archaic-hoplite/

Congrats on the armor and the vid. I love the high crest, its a bit more archaic than classical but it does look cool and is not often seen in modern day reenactment. Another great detail is the designs on your chiton and the way it folds behind your neck. But my favorite has to be the writing on the inner side of the shield rim. What's the full inscription? I see some liberties you took with the armor but the overall effect is amazing. Great and inspiring work, video and soundtrack, keep it up

Congratulations it's a beautiful armor, never seen full plate hoplite with upper leg and upper armor, looks fantastic! It would be very cool if the video had more battle movements like spear thrusts and shield defenses.. And please don't shoot near a road and electrical cables it looked weird made me think hoplite vs truck xD Thanks for sharing this video

@ireneemerson58284 жыл бұрын
I'm sure the Spartans wore armor. However in ancient Greece the Nake Male Form was openly obsessed over. It's true that the Greek Games and many Physical events were all done in the nude. Having the soldiers appear so naked in the movie 300 was just the one person's (Costume Design) interpretation.

Inquest Flash @ hi so you have to put something inside between our head and the helmet something like wool or so. You can run with the helmet. But i changed the creast it is to long and to heavy . So you have problems too with the wind. In an few days i will upload an new video. Greestings
@LeohTheArcher10 жыл бұрын
Never seen that shoulder piece of armor in the paintings. Is it historical or did you just decided to add it? Looks like a lot of unnecessary weight in a dense formation fight. Same for the upper leg armor.
@MOLONLABE48010 жыл бұрын
Leonardo Marques you don,t will se much of this because there is no one out there. you can see some pics in the museum in Ancient Olympia in grecce ..serach on google for Shoulder armour medusa archaic. maybe you will find something.

Did you need the feathery plume on the helmet, though? Most troops didn't wear it, except like the captains and generals.

Modern building that is 600 years old XD? Haha might be considered modern compared to most ruins in Greece. Good job on the armor. May I ask is this a reproduction of what was used back in those days or a 'fantasy' armor based on old designs?

How did you kill a man totally covered in armor with ancient weapons? spear cannot Pierce bronze armor and sword too.
@MOLONLABE48010 жыл бұрын
The weak points are the eyes the neck and the open body parts between the Armour. Not every thing is complete with bronze. The Knights from the Camelot are much better covered
@theCreativeAssemblymachinimas10 жыл бұрын
So why did not they cover those weak parts? They would have made invincible hoplites. For the eyes, you can put a grill in front of eyes so he can see whithouth being stabbed.

we are all "warriors" somehow...we do not fight with spears and swords, but with our brains and constant endeavours (menthal or phisical, depending on your job), and the battlefield is our life. Integrity, Discipline, honor, strenght, respect...these are all ancient values which can and should be still applied.
