7:10, the holes in chainmale armor allow for better movement while still giving a lot of protection, this was made to give a little bit of durabillity up for movement or else if you would wear a full suit of iron armor, it would feel like your whole body is stuck to a stright object not allowing for much movement edit: 1 thanks for the like rekrap, second a full set of armor is also very very heavy (30 to 35 kg or 66 to 77 pounds)

Also back then stabbing might not have been as much an issue as slashing, chainmail could effectively stop slashes, but the holes in it made it prone to stabs, however stabs were probably not the meta in those times

to answer your question at 7:30 the holes are to make it lighter while being able to stop arrows as people used to have trouble being able to move around with a bunch of iron armor on but still wanted to be protected.

Yo if you ever try this again, I believe you don’t need wart for weakness potions so I would recommend making nether reactor cores to get the blaze rods. Great video :)

11:11 unlike vanilla, you can apply instant prot books on armor with other types of protection, so you could’ve had a prot 2 projectile prot 2 chestplate instead

I know this is completly unrelated to the video, but I would just like to thank rekrap for sharing his keybinds at the bit of the video where he forgot to nick homself. I thing imma definatly take some things (probably most of them) from this, as my current hotkey setup is kinda scuffed ngl. I'm very used to it, so its gonna be hard to change it, but change can be good, so im definatly gonna try it. Thank you rekrap! Edit: I just saw that he uses r to toggle perspective. Chainmail is used to mostly block sword slashes with the lightest weight but stabbing is still efficient because of the little holes

when u trade for armor, go for a trade which has iron boots for 4 em and 15 cole one, if u have 60-80 em u can fully max a villager, the reson for 4em boot trade is , if u trade it 3 time then wait a few sec it will go down one to 3m, do that 2 more time the boots should be at 1-2 ,then if u r lucy enough there is a high chance you will get chainmel pants or helmet for 1 em, then like trade 12-13 times then you should get more chain armor or sheild for 1 em, then it should be max, if you have everything ready it should take 2-3 min to make the villager ,i use clay to trade but sticks should be as good too

@rekrap1 I have a really cool speed run idea it’s basically like beating Minecraft at 100x times speed but when you start out in the over world the game is 10X speed then when you enter the nether the game becomes 50X speed and when you enter the end it becomes 100X speed its kinda complicated but i think it would be cool.

chainmail has holes just because mail its cheap and easy to make since you only need to make rings and not sculpted plates so non blacksmiths/artisans could work on it and its mobile while still being decent against slashes
