Thanks for the great review. I owned Hoplomachus and sold it when I Kickstarted this. Mainly because I thought this would be a more streamlined version. Good to know that paid of. I’ve got enough solo campaign games and love Hoplo because of the great solo skirmish experience. One gripe about your video: now I can’t wait for it to arrive 😅

A great video showing some of the higlights of the remastered. I would love to see the remastered differs from the original. I have backed remastered, but will the streamlined feel like I have lost some of the tactical choices?

Thank you. SM is still a great game and a true boardgame version of a video game. I think I prefer Hoplo but they scratch very different itches. SM is very hung hi whilst Hoplo requires more strategising in terms of which units you are going to deploy and when.

I feel like CTG really undersold Remastered during the Victorum campaign. I can see this one being the more popular game solo (and multiplayer obviously), being that it is a bigger map reminiscent of City of the Ancients and Rise of Rome, and quicker to knock out a game.

We absolutely did. Remastered was worthy of its own campaign and release! We didn't want our Hoplomachus campaign to feel like a 'confused product', so we decided to feature Victorum first and foremost.

Chip theory games is in my home state probably 15 minutes from my house for some reason I don’t know in any of their games but this does look like a cool game.

I think criticism of the rulebooks is a general view I share with you across ALL the chip theory games I own. Generally their reference sheets are really excellent DURING play, but learning the core of their games via the rulebook i find hard without the help of video playthroughs such as yours.
